The paypal account has a completely different name on it then the bank acc does. Can you link them and make withdraws, transfers, without any problems
And let's say you link a cc too with a different name on it.

Possible yes, but risky. The way PayPal works is that there is an algorithm running 24/7 checking what users are doing and giving activity a "rating" on how likely it is to be fraudulent. If it rates an activity suspicious enough, you get limited. Usually linking a bank or CC with a different name is fine, but if you then say, try to withdraw 5000$ the same day, you'll get limited for sure because it looks like you might be trying to commit credit fraud. If in doubt, have passport and lots of patience on hand in case you get limited and have to verify with PayPal.

    What about 1k?
This also reminds me, I have heard that apparently if you withdrawn certain amounts from PP or have certain amounts in your PP balance or deposited in your PP balance... that PP requests for the last 4 of ur ssn or all of it in some cases. I have heard this for at least unverified accs, but idk if anyones experienced it with verified acc. If you give ur ssn then your acc becomes frozen or restricted or whatever.

Anyone else hear of this happening?

Want to elaborate? Different name on bank acc linked?

i can also attest to that the withdrawal will go through if the names don't match on your paypal and bank account, the only thing that matters is that the account number should be correct, so the money won't bounce back

The PayPal algorithm is temperamental at best and utterly unpredictable at worst. It's sort of a fine art to make it work for you in tricky situations. Many factors influence your suspicion rating: Account age, how much money has passed through it, how many chargebacks have happened etc etc. And yes the last 4 digits of your SSN is absolutely true, have had that happen to me, that's one of the things that can happen if you trigger their security system. Unverified accounts of course have the highest suspicion rating, but it can happen to any account that does sufficiently fishy things. 1K could work if your account is verified, a month old or so and maybe has handled some money already and has no chargebacks. If it's unverified, you're just asking for a limit imo.

There are certain banks that won't allow mismatched names. Most big banks (BofA, wells fargo, etc) will

I would think that this would be hard to do. I think that it would be a huge red flag to paypal and they would shut down the account.

I have done it with no problem BUT the person I added and I had the same last name. We also had the same address and had never used PayPal themselves. However, as others have mentioned, PayPal is tricky. They could ask for information from you to verify your identity and ask for information about the new account.

You can link them with different names. Paypal is looking for an account they can verify, not the personal identifiers tied to it.
