I've heard people in real life talk about, 'if I had 1,000,000 bucks I'd quit my job and chill out all day whilst living on interest', but I always think that their attitude is probably the main reason they don't have 1,000,000 bucks.

For me, if I got my hands on that money it'd just be the beginning of a long journey into making even more. As I was thinking about this, I realised that I would never really be happy with the amount of money I made and I imagine I would constantly strive for more. Even if I was a billionaire.

How do you guys feel about this? Would you ever be happy with a certain amount of money?

I'll be happy with how much money I have when there is no more money left for me to take.

I think after a while it doesn't even become about the money.. it's just about playing the game.

If it's in your blood, you won't want to ever stop playing the game until you are old and dying.

I'd be with $50/day. The more the merrier though.

It's not about how much money you make, it's about being happy in what
you are doing to make it the money is just incidental. The more you like what you do
the more money you will make.
How can you ever be happy if you are making $5000 a day and you don't like
the process of making it? You are sacrificing happiness for money so you will
never really be happy which defeats the object.
One side of your brain will be telling you "I've got to do this to make money."
While the other side will be telling you "But what if I don't?"
Harmonise your brain by thinking "I am doing this and it's good."
Don't think "I want that car." think " what I am doing is getting me that car."
Not "I want to be a millionaire." but " What I'm doing is bringing me closer to
    being a millionaire everyday."
    You'll get there eventually.

Exactly my thoughts. After you cross the $50 a day barrier you will be wanting a $100 and then you'll want to make $500 and so forth. Like someone said, it becomes about the game after a while rather than the money.

yeah whatever.. you guys saying ud be happy with $50 a day will see its not enuff.. i was saying that crap years ago.. then i went thru periods i was making $5k/day and IT WAS NOT ENUFF, id be disappointed/sad if i ended up with $3k instead of $5k... basically at this point if i made say $10k/day, and next day made only $8k, id be disappointed... the more you make the more you want.. $50/day isnt gonna buy you that nice house/car...

$5k/day WILL buy you that $100k car and $500k house, but it aint gonna buy you a $1mil car, etc etc..

its funny how ungrateful we are.. some of us make more money PER DAY than 70% of americans make in a MONTH, yet we call it a bad day.lol

It's never enough only because of one thing, people like to buy crap they don't need.
'don't understand about crap and why people buy them, what's so impressive about crap except the building of it'

But people who say they can be happy with a certain amount just haven't learned about themselves yet. Crap is calling your name.

$50's? Are you guys kidding? What about millions? Hundreds of millions? I've been thinking about this alot lately because I feel as if I'm on the verge of making it big. I don't think that IM could take you more than a few million - at that point you'd have to diversify and get into larger scale multinational businesses. But back to reality - all I do lately is write or code, come back to BHW or Reddit, do more, come back to BHW, write some more, etc. There are only so many material things I want or need, a few places I want to travel to, and a handful of expensive toys I want to buy. In my current job I am "low man on the totem pole" and less educated than my peers. I've found that non-material things like prestige and respect are things you cannot buy no matter how wealthy you are, so they have started to matter to me more. I feel like I'm closer to making massive amounts of money, so it occurred to me that the things I want are things I would never be able to buy. A nice house, a place at the beach or in the mountains, ski trips, vacations, cruises, a couple of nice cars and no monthly bills... it doesn't really cost THAT much to get those things, really, and just beyond that point I'd probably help my immediate/nuclear family achieve the same things (I don't think I'd just give them money - I'd help them start businesses of their own...) but I think that after all the material needs and desires were taken care of, after all my obligations to take care of my family are taken care of, I'd go to grad school / professional school, maybe eventually get a Phd. Am I being short sighted?

The way I see it, there's 2 types of people:
    1. People who want things therefore need money (things=evrything)
    2. People who want money therefore need things

Now, they're not strictly exclusive categories. I believe I belong to category 2, because I see money as points in a game. Points that I can use to make more points. In a vast limitless game you're playing against each other, and not the game itself.

Now don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the finer aspects of life, but rather than the latest iphone, I'd rather have a really good meal. Rather than a hugely over priced couch, I'd rather have security (financial, educational, physical) for my family.

But mainly, I want money, money to put into my bank. Money to wield. Money to make things happen for me.

    You should read this

Statistically, people who make 10 million a year, are only SLIGHTLY happier than people who make just above average national wage.

Statistically, the happiest people are healthy married people with no children who activily participate with many people socially.

money does buy happiness, but not nearly as much as people think

I'm happy with how much I make right now. Of course, that doesn't stop me from working hard to achieve more money. But at the same time, life isn't ONLY about money, and I make sure to do things like read, exercise, go out partying, play games, travel, etc. - what's the point of making money if you don't use it? :p

You have to set goals for yourself (financial AND non-financial) or else you lose sight of what's really important (living life). Take a break once in a while.

It took me months of trying various things but then i started making, $50 a day, then a month later $100 a day, then even more than that, as others have said, you want to constantly reach for more, you want more than yesterday, if its less you ask WHY? WTF? why not more, and you make it more... i wont stop until i have my own private island to live on and a solid business which needs zero input yet brings me a super income

My long time gf constant yells at me, i used to go and say many years ago,
"If i could only make 1k a week I'd be happy....",
    Which then turned into...
"If i could only make 5k a week, we'd be ok..."
    Which turned into...
"if i could just make 40k a month I'd be happy..."

I'm pretty contented when i make 1k a day consistantly. But i remember when i was making about 2-3k a day, when I'd joke around and say "omg what kinda loser only makes 60k a month!!"

Its times like that that make me sad, because I'm struggling to make 10k a month now :(

But it comes and it goes, I have hope. I've Had my earning be very very high, had changes made, and then had them slow to a crawl. Fixed things and then had my best months yet, this will now be my 4th time coming back form nothing.

The 10k now i mentioned, well a couple of months ago it was 1-2 off of residuals of old free trials and stuff popping. So its winding and working up, but it takes time.

When will it be enough though? Never. But remember the field we work in is bound to have its ups and downs, so when your making the big $$$, make sure to save a great deal of it. If i hadnt I'd have been crippled in trying to set up the things I had to adapt

I'm addicted to making money...It's not the actual money..It's an addiction to creating ways to make money. I stay up late and can not sleep when I have something I'm working on. I think about ways to increase my income 24/7 and implement them with the help of other like minded people. It's not how much I have or how much I had..It's about what unbelievable new concept or method can I turn into reality.
