EDIT: (I had the wrong number of entries) I've got an Excel file with almost 1,000,000 lines in it. Each line has 3 entries (one in column A, B & C).

They are in 3 columns. As an example, here is what the file looks like right now:

    Code:
    column A : column B : column C

apples : united states : world
peanuts : united kingdom : canada
puppies : united states : world
apples : united kingdom : world
    keyboard : united states: canada
The first thing I need done with the file, is to have all duplicates removed from column A, along with their corresponding columns (B, C), even if the corresponding columns aren't duplicates .

So the above file would then look like this (because apples appears more than once in column A):
    Code:
apples : united states : world
peanuts : united kingdom : canada
puppies : united states : world
    keyboard : united states: canada
The second (& last) thing I need done with the file, is to have each LINE of data seperated into it's own sheet or separate file based on the data in column B.

So after this step, the file would THEN look like:

    Code:
    Sheet 1 - United States

apples : united states : world
puppies : united states : world
keyboard : united states : canada
    Code:
    Sheet 2 - united kingdom

peanuts : united kingdom : canada
If any of this is unclear, please let me know. Also, tell me how long it would take you to do this, and how much you would charge.

PLEASE DON'T PM ME ABOUT IT. Just post on the thread and I'll PM you.

    Thanks.

There are 939,069 lines in the file (sorry, I had the wrong number in my OP. I fixed it).

    Each line has 3 entries (one in column A, B & C).

And payment method should be through PayPal after completion.

They aren't actually countries, that was just an example. But yes, there are a rather large number of different entries in column A, B & C.

If you'd like to just take a look at the file, let me know & I'll send it to you.

That's an easy task to complete, I'm pretty good with Excel.

I won't charge you anything, let me know if you have something to trade:
service, software, ebooks - almost anything.

PM me if you still need help.

Edit: I didn't read completely, it's a rather large file so in theory it's still easy to complete but
may take a little more time because of the number of lines.

    My offer still stands though.

is column A already sorted. i was asking because sorting an excel file with 1 million lines may take ages. haven't done that yet but sorting 100k lines took me some time. if it is already sorted, it will shorten the processing of this file. i would appreciate to view the file to gauge the complexity of your data. thanks.

A faster method would be to extract into a mysql table then check for dups with php then export back into csv. PHP will do the job very quickly rather than killing your cpu.
