My depression hates IM. How do you do IM when you are in depression, or if you are in depressed mood for the day? Luckily I have no depression now, but sometimes I still get into depressed mode for just 1 day or week. Then I feel like life is too empty and boring and pointless even though I have goals and purposes. Should we really keep trying to work and be productive when we have such issues?

Well you can either do something or just sit and wait to die. May as well be productive while you have the opportunity.

I think its important to find the root of your depression and then take the necessary steps in trying to deal with it. It might be family, friends or a slue of things that maybe causing it so my suggestions would be to take a tiny break away from online and go out a bit and do some activities you enjoy doing. If you need anything or just want to talk you can always skype me.

This has nothing to do with IM. Even regular daily routines and duties might make you feel the same way. I've been through some tough times and I know it's all about perception and motivation. So better dig deeper and get rid of those emotions or you ain't going anywhere.

Set a goal you might only reach in 5 / 10 years ... it will bring you lots of motivation! Like ask yourself, why are you doing this? And the goal will bring you the answer....

I think the only way to get motivated to earn money is when you are good in your social life and actually need the money (to go out with friends, travel, gifts to your gf, shopping, a new car etc). If your social life lacks and you are just staying home in front of a computer what would you need the money for? So its all about balance-at least for me. There are people that get hard with the idea of having lots of money for the sake of having them, and good for them. But i like to have money so i can spend them and live good. So yeah depression would work against IM too i think, but that should be the least of your concerns. Yes, money can buy happiness but up to a point. You cant buy good friends.

What do you mean by, "If your social life lacks and you are just staying home in front of a computer what would you need the money for"? You still need money to: use your computer (electric bill, Internet bill), upgrade your computer, eat, speak to your clients (phone bill), pay for your business expenses (FBN renewals, permits, etcetera), and to test new methods (especially PPC methods).

Although, I agree with you about money not being able to buy good friends. :)

Get a nice puppy. That has been known to help depression.

Also, a great way to get rid of the "blue funk" is to see if
you can volunteer helping children in a cancer center or
do anything in which you are helping other people. When
you see how bad off some other people are in this world,
you will begin to get a sense of gratitude and realize that
your situation isn't so bad after all.

I'd say try to incorporate daily exercise in your life. I've just completed a custom program combination of Focus T25 and P90X3. Each day in the week was a combination of both: one 25 minutes excercise from T25 (which is more cardio oriented), do a quick brake and get on with P90X3 (30 minutes more power oriented exercises). It was an awesome experience overall and well worth the journey. Currently I'm in my last "victory week" and I have tremendous results! I'm a bit sad I didn't take a before picture for comparison, maybe would've become a certified coach at beachbody lol. I've always been somewhat active in sports, but when you do it daily and with such a high intensity it's much different. It lasted for 90 days and now since I've started living this kind of lifestyle I think I'm going to continue working out every single day be it power-lifting, full blast cardio or yoga. From around the second month till now I feel much more rejuvenated and I rarely get angry or depressed while working which wasn't the case before. On top of that I feel that my concentration and speed of doing things while sitting in front of my PC has increased quite a bit. I get a lot more things done in a shorter period these days.

Going to the gym is a luxury to me. I don't have the time and I don't like waiting for other people to get off the machine I want to use. Actually I don't even like machines for workout anymore, I try to do as much body-weight type of exercises as possible.

You don't have to do the same program I did because it was a bit hard, but depending on your current shape I suggest you go for only Focus T25 or P90X3 (not both) if you don't have much time, and you haven't been exercising for a while and continue with a higher intensity program after you complete any of them. Or go for Insanity / p90X if you think you're in good shape, depending if you want to burn some fat or get more muscle.

OR if you're EXTREMELY busy, you can find 10 minute trainer by Tony Horton (p90x) and do that. Whatever you think works for you, just don't stop exercising!

Depression is a bitch! I think most of us have been there at one point or the other. Here are some ways to beat depression...set new goals, do something new, exercise, try to have fun.

Ever since I got into IM my depression has started to fade away. It's not just because I don't have as many money problems as I used to but also because I really enjoy doing what I'm doing.

If I'm in a funk, I barely get anything done that day. I'll probably visit the gym and do some dead lifts. When I have enough monies and I'm less location dependent, I'll probably travel to another country with a different culture for a couple of weeks. This should shock me out of my depression.
