article C internal link to article A with anchor text hummingbird
everytime i want to internalink to article A i always use "hummingbird" as anchortext, is it safe?

yes you can if the anchor text is your most imp keyword but try to use related keyword as well. so your viewers will have interest in reading more.

I’m not sure if it’s bad, but it doesn’t benefit you, either. Whether you link to a page one time or ten times in one text, they pass the same level of authority. I other words: one link is enough for internal linking SEO purposes!

You can, but why would you? Google is smart enough to understand what you're linking to even if you use some variations.

My two cents: try first using the same anchor as you say, it's not going to hurt anyway. See what happens, and when rankings stabilize after a while try to change these anchors with variations.

Far from being a single variable test, but you can get an idea this way.

But in my experience I haven't seen much difference, TBH.

Mix up with KW + some generic terms (like "Most Common Hummingbird")

The best practice is to add some generic words with the main keyword each time.

Nothing wrong with that

Yes, no issues with it when you use it in the necessary places.

You can use that. But don't over do with that. You can mix it with some long tail keywords & with generic anchors to look natural.

I don't think this is bad, because the same anchor can be placed on 1000+ pages, for example in the menu of the site. But I would recommend that you use a variety of anchors, so readers will be more convenient and google will better understand what your page is about, when the bot will scan these links

Absolutely, if it makes sense to use that anchor text, you can do that repeatedly.

You can get away with that.

But if you overdo it, it counts as link spam.

You have to pay close attention to the context in which you're linking.

Is the anchor text the best way to describe the page you're linking to in the context of the page you're linking from?

For instance, if I have a plumbing website, and my page that I'm linking from involves showerheads, and the page that I'm linking to talks about copper fittings.

The context is the copper fittings in a shower system.

On the other hand, if my page is kitchen plumbing, I may have to change the anchor text a little bit.

Do you see how this works?

So you have to use a natural "positioning" of your anchor depending on where you're linking from.

For internal links, I usually do 50% exact match keyword anchors, 40% randomized long-tail anchors and 10% generic/url.

As always, do your own testing as every site/niche can vary.

Do not use same anchor text, use variations to look natural.
