I figured I could come here and see what other think. I have been trying all day to get something to download on rapidshare and I think we all need to get together and QUIT using it. Free users can't download anything anymore with it and there are TONS of alternatives out there.

What do you guys think? I just get mad when I want to download something I find on here or somewhere else and I can't because it is on rapidshare and I get errors like this over and over and over.

"Unfortunately right now our servers are overloaded and we have no more download slots left for non-members. Of course you can also try again later."

You get points, at least that's how it used to work.

And RapidShare is one of the best file sharing sites if you have a premium account.

Downloading for free I had no problems at all till now with MediaFire!

But as I have a Rapidshare Account, I go for it. You can get whatever you want with it, and on Topspeed (For me 1.6 Mb/s)

I guess if you download a TON then it is okay. Maybe I am being petty for not just upgrading. I do understand why people use it if you can make money.

Still I bet there are a lot of free users out there that feel the same as I do. My problem is I do download a descent amount each month haha.

    I have a 3.1mbps download speed so....

well, you should try using jDownloader. Or just buy a premium account! ~20 dollars for 3 months of everything you want is pretty cool!!

Yes, we should Boycott Rapidshare. Now Rapidshar is requiring everyone who tries to download a file to Register for a "free account". This may result in preventing people from using different IP's to get around RapidShare's download limit.

Rapidshare is by far the most aggressive in trying to get money out of anyone who downloads files from their site. They do everything possible to make free users uncomfortable and inconvenienced. They're another example of a company which has gotten too big and don't care about their customers.

Everyone should Boycott Rapidshare and stop uploading files to their site. There's lot's of other file sharing sites like Megaupload, Filefactory, Mediafire, etc

What? Really? I've actually been developing a liking to RS more than usual lately. I keep randomly getting unexplainable instant downloads without a premium account, anybody else getting this?

I agree 110%. I had been buying rapids for at least a year and whenever I'd run out of rapids I would use the free version temporarily but now they've made it such a pain in the bollox to use the free version that its completely impractical to use it. This is a good strategy on their part to coerce people into paying for their service but out of principle I'm never going to pay for rapidshare again. I'm gonna switch to megaupload and depositfiles.
