Is it possible? Can such an expense be written off as a business expense? If not by me, then by a company who would lets say sponsor me?

I've actually already contacted an accountant last year and they said that this was not possible so I just left it at that. I sort of started thinking about it again and I thought I'd post here to see if anyone might know. Technically speaking it would be "training to staff". I guess I'll try and check up with a few other accountants and see what they say.

When you contact them, try to ask them "Can a company write of training staff as a business expense"....

I bet they will say yes...

I would be inclined to take a government loan for your university fees.
Have the company repay the loan and mark it down as staff training.
Leave the company and have them mark it down as a loss.
Form a Ltd company and have them hire you with a headhunters bounty
which could also be written off as an expense.

But don't take my word for it.
