Can Transferwise US bank account be linked to suspended paypal?

Well, so I did it, and paypal says:

"In 3-5 business days, we’ll send 2 small deposits (less than 0,50 USD). After you get them, come back and confirm your bank."

So I guess when/if the deposits arrive, I'll proceed with the verification and try to withdraw.

Any advice or thoughts here, let me know.

@HoNeYBiRD I know you got something to say here, maybe, probably :D

Honestly, I'm still worried that paypal just ends up stealing my money anyway, so the sooner I withdraw the better.

I haven't tried to link TW VBA to PayPal, especially not to a limited account. :) From the looks of it, it's on track.

When i had a limited stealth PayPal with funds in it, after the 180 days have passed, i went oldschool. I walked into a brick and mortar bank and i opened an account with my real info. The PayPal account was on a different name, yet the withdrawal went through without any issue.

Can you link a Transferwise US bank account with a suspended paypal in order to withdraw funds (180 days have passed, funds are eligible for withdrawal)?

Even if they let you transfer the money, be cautious when withdrawing

Safest way to withdraw
1. Do not withdraw all the money at once, just try to withdraw small amounts and after 48hrs passed, increase withdraw amount

2. let the balnce money stay there at least 2 week, like 20%

3. after that you can withdraw money

This is the safest method , because even after they let you withdraw, they need to verify it is you

Yeah that would probably work actually, but I... try to... stay poor in the eyes of the system :D

I found this - https://wise.com/gb/blog/how-to-send-money-from-paypal-to-transferwise

So according to that, Transferwise is fine with it. In fact they wrote the article, so they encourage it. Great.

I just checked my Wise account and the 2 small payments from paypal didn't arrive yet. We wait...

So the 2 payments arrived in my Wise. I added the amounts on paypal, they verified the account...

So I went to withdraw my money. But paypal wants phone verification. Normally I hate the phone verification, but in this case it's fine, good security... but the SIM card is in an old Nokia phone that has an empty battery. So I gotta plug it in a charger. Ugh...

Okay, phone verified and all. Most of the money in the account is USD, but I do have some EUR in the account too. Like 130 euros. So I'm gonna convert those into USD and then withdraw the entire amount, about $1,800 total...

All right, we have 1.756,37 USD. The transfer is free. But I expect Wise to take $7,50 fee when and if the money hits my account...

You transferred 1.756,37 USD
You transferred funds to your EVOLVE BANK &TRUST Checking ••••####.

Now we wait, and pray... :D

The devil - paypal - emailed me, they say:

We're transferring money to your bank

You asked us to transfer $1,756.37 USD to your bank account, and we're processing this transaction now.

Estimated arrival: 1 business day

Transfers made after 7:00 PM ET or on weekends or holidays take longer. All transfers are subject to review and could be delayed or stopped if we identify an issue.

So the transaction is still Pending...

So the withdrawal doesn't say "Pending" on paypal anymore. I guess they sent it out.

Although I would imagine they'd send an email. Like they sent me an email that my transaction was processing. I'd imagine they'd send an email to tell me my transaction was successful, it was sent, something like that.

Or maybe not, who knows, anyway...

But it is the weekend, plus it's like a bank transfer, so those things considered I expect this to take a coupla days.

So Monday+ it is :p

Well I'll be damned. It worked.

"Hello SCORP,

You received 1,756 USD from SCORP.

The money is in your account and ready to use.
"

There you go guys, it works, go nuts :D

Ok let's listen to some music and enjoy a good start of a weekend, and welcome home the money that was stranded for oh so long 6 months... we missed them so much :D

Ok I'm pumped, and I'm a little addicted to this clip atm, so you get one more and then I go back to work :p

So I didn't have the time to login to Wise to check the fee. I was sure I'd lose $7.50 fee to receive the money in Wise, because when I check my USD bank account details it says:

"There’s a 7.50 USD fee to receive wire transfers"

But no fee. I have exactly the amount that I sent myself. In fact, for some weird reason I have $0.20 cents more than I should have o_O

Well.. so.. so basically I paid no fee to withdraw from paypal and no fee to receive on Wise. This is freaking awesome :)

---

Edit: Okay actually I have $0.12 cents more than I should have. But it's because of the 2 payments paypal sent me when verifying the bank account. They still didn't take that money back.. not sure how/when/if they will, but there you go.

they do double-check. after you withdraw funds, they check it manually before initiating the transfer.
