I recently bought a Fiverr package for an article submission. Yesterday it was completed and today I get this email:

    Code:
    Name : Jay

    Email : wrightj35@gmail.com

Message : Hey if you are going to steal my content at least give me credit for it. This article is stolen content: http://www.*****.com/****** You can either remove it or give me credit for it. It was taken from EzineArticles. If I get no response I will report this to Google, Yahoo & Bing.
Now, all I did was buy the Fiverr gig, I didn't ask for this certain article to be submitted under my sites link. I know where the guy is coming from in terms of being angry, but I don't even have accounts/passes for those article directories and they were submitted to over 2000+ sites.

I was going to tell him to fuck off because of the way he was acting, just making sure I'm not being a douchebag as I don't need anymore bad Karma right now. But will do :D.

tell him that you have no idea or control over whatever is published on a site you don't own or control and he should take it up with the website who is publishing the stolen content. I'm assuming it was an article stolen from ezine and then republished somewhere like Weebly.com or some other site w/ a link to your site. No need to worry about anything. Google doesn't even read spam complaints anymore.

Google and others will not punish you for content on a Site not under your control! if this would be possible I could post an unique article to my site and than post it to web2.0 properties with links to my competition, myself report it and eliminate all my competition in one go. Jeje doent't make to much sence.

I have plenty of articles "stolen" from artcle directories. Who cares? Mine was first and google knows that. He is a douchebag. Your legal responsibilities apply only to sites that you own and control the content.

Even if he reports you, it means nothing, because Google could care less. Yahoo and Bing couldn't care that much.

What I would do is make him work for it.

Tell him to give you the following information and you will see what you can do.

The URL of his original article to prove it is his.

The URL of the offending pages.

When the article was published on these venues.

The URL of legit pages with this article on it that shows his credits to prove that other people do include his link.

A copy of the original article and the usurped article with the "stolen" material clearly indicated so you can investigate.

The adsense account number of the page that has the article on it, if it has adsense on it.

What the theft of his article has cost him. Without a loss he has no claim.

His traffic stats for this period of time to verify his losses.

The owner of the offending web site so you can contact them.

Insist that you need this information in order to fully investigate his claim.

As soon as he gets that information to you, if he does, let him know that you have turned it over to legal and you will let him know what the legal department decides.

If he doesn't tell him that without this standard information that you need to investigate the matter, you cannot investigate it further.

After all of this has been delivered, wait 3 weeks and then e-mail him and tell him that due to a server crash, you have lost all of his submitted information, and you need him to resubmit it.

Rinse and repeat, after 6 months have gone by, if he doesn't give up, THEN tell him to fuck off.

Chuckle like hell at the thought of him letting you rent space out in his head like that.

Tell him you bought an internet marketing service, and that you have no control over the content because they do not supply any usernames and passwords.

That's all there is to it.

Don't go insulting him because that could make it into an even bigger headache.

I would not advise telling him anything about your back-end unless he is a Catholic Priest, you are a parishioner at his church and you want to confess your SEO sins... hahahahaha :flock::flock::flock:

Personally, I like sldebo's response... take him through the SEO gauntlet!!!
