Can these backlinks rank a site?

all those low-tier links move needle barely now. blog comments, forums, PBN filler = footprint risk, cheap juice at best. major authority placements still run the show. mix low-tier to mask velocity, but rely on real DR50+ contextual, topical links for ranking punch.

You should go with high authority backlinks like PR and guest posts on major sites with high authority because if you palce blog comments, forum link, etc in bulk then google may consider it as spam. So, you should look for quality over quantity.
 
Unlikely on competitive niches, possible on super narrowed niches in English or alternative languages
 
Low-quality links (comments, forums, PBNs) offer minimal SEO value and rarely rank a site alone. High-authority backlinks from major sites are crucial, while smaller links can support. Quality content is still the foundation.

Those links by themselves will not rank a site in 2026. Comments, profiles, forums, and PBNs are useful for diversity and faster indexing, but they don’t offer strong ranking power. To see real results, you still need quality, relevant backlinks from trusted sites with actual traffic. A balanced mix helps, but authority links matter the most.
 
Those links can help, but only in a supporting role. Blog comments, profiles, forums, and similar sources mainly add diversity and help with indexing. They won’t rank a site by themselves.

PBNs can work, but only if they’re niche-relevant and well-maintained. For real ranking movement, you still need contextual links from genuine sites with real traffic. Use the smaller links as supplements, not your core strategy.
 
Lots of people here talked about forums links... just shows they don't know what they are talking about.
Forums (links n0follw/f0llow, no matter) are some of the best links out there... When I talk about forum links I'm talking about highly moderated and relevant forums. Google knows which forums are strict and gives them value + more importantly, you'll get lots of traffic.

But I guess, most of BHW members use dead/unmoderated forums and then wonder why those links do nothing.
 
i think these backlinks can't rank a site. maybe these can get some good metrics to the site but obviously they can't rank it.

But you can try high authority site for backlinks i think those can rank a site.
 
Low quality backlinks (blog comments, profiles, forums, PBNs) do not provide stable or long-term rankings. Google gives more value to relevant high-authority and natural backlinks. You get the best results when your content is strong and your backlinks come from trusted websites. Low quality links only play a supportive role they are not a primary ranking factor.

Not much, they work more as support links, not ranking powerhouses

For real movement, you still need a few strong, trusted links from solid sites

Most people use both: cheap links for foundation, authority links for real ranking power.

Some backlinks can help your site, but they must be high-quality and relevant blog comments, profiles, and forums are good as support links.
for better ranking use trusted sites in your niche and keep making good helpful content.
