    Hi all,

Well, a friend asked me to give him some advice on what type of PC to buy (mainly specs to go by). But I realized I've been out of the PC buying game for so long that I don't know half the acronyms and terms anymore!!
The last time I REALLY knew about PC stuff was around the Pentium 3, Pentium 4 era. After that I pretty much didn't keep up with technology terms for PCs.

So is there some sort of guide I could go by that explains what's good - better - best? Something like that? Or some comparisons between terms?

Sort of like Athlon is better than Celeron, etc. (I know - I'm dating myself).

    Thanks all...

P.S. He will be getting just a barebones system. Mainly for office work - lost of multitasking - and Photoshop and web design every now and then. Plus, he's cheap! So any suggestions on a decent system? (Tigerdirect seems to have good prices)
