I would edit your OP. I understand you're upset, but I'd tone it down a bit.
Can I please get an explanation for why my charity fundraiser thread was deleted? I never received one in PM. Thanks.
Easy soldier. Good things do happen...to those that wait until they have donor status and can post links.
I'd be incredibly surprised and perturbed if I get banned for being irritated or upset. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding, and if so I apologize, but now I've got to set everything up in my thread again, and I wasn't even given any sort of warning. I would think that people could be a little more relaxed in matters that are obviously for a good reason.
If they deleted it, it was probably for a reason. Posting another thread because the other was deleted PROBABLY isn't a very good idea. Just my $.02 .
"I wasn't asking for money, I was asking for support in a fundraiser that I strongly support and have set up myself."
What do you mean by that... you setup the fundraiser yourself??
Look below my name, I am a donor. I'm allowed to post links, so that's obviously not the problem?
I set up the fundraiser that I posted off of a site that is meant for you to be able to set up your own fundraiser. It's for the "Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure Inc." foundation, which is a foundation that is working hard to find a cure.
I offered people many options to donating their money, because I understand that people are skeptical, and I respect that. There are still many small ways that anyone could help.
(Just guessing here but it does make sense)
Ur on a blackhat forum, so that means people do blackhat ways to make money. If someone starts a thread asking for funds/donations/money the moderators would be instantly suspicious of that. Maybe you should have PM-ed/talked to a MOD on IRC and ask for permission before posting such a thread.. its just too big of a risk to have a thread like that in these forums.
If you post again you will get banned. If you want good advice:
1. Change your attitude if you don't mods/admins will see it as aggression and will just ignore you/ban you.
2. Go on irc and politely contact a mod/admin and ASK why your post/thread/sig was deleted.
and one more thing.
BHW is not like the real world.
It has a love it or leave it attitude.
BHW staff is busy. They cannot PM everyone to tell them about why their thread was deleted.
When posting... first SEARCH for similar post.
If you DO NOT FIND any similar to what you want to post.
SO take the time to write the mods and ask if your type of post is allowed.
this will save you a lot of frustration.
But how is it a risk? The money you make is the money you make, you can spend it how you spend it. Regardless, I wasn't dropping a paypal and saying "hey donate!" because obviously that's suspicious. I didn't even set it up on my own website, because that could be considered slimy or suspicious too.
I did it through a website which has thousands of fundraisers open right now as well, where payment goes directly through their website. This means that there's no possible funny business with the fundraiser, which is my absolute goal.. I'm not trying to screw anyone, I'm just trying to get something done..
there are more scammers in Charity than in any other business.
not saying you are, but just pointing out a fact.
I second with IKBentim, especially knowing that LEGALLY in order for you to have a "charity", only 2% HAS to go to the cause. Not saying that's your intent, but charities aren't always as innocent as people portray them.
don't mean to be a dik..
but if this charity is so important...
why is it not on your sig?
I get that marusia, I've done a little research beforehand. That is right, however trough the website, (http://www.justgive.org), all of the money donated goes to that charity. I have put a personal comment on the charity telling them how to use the money, (only for advancing their reach on cancer, not for new dew-dads or personal paychecks).
I get your point though, really.
It wasn't in my signature because I didn't even have time to actually put it in my signature. By the time I posted the thread, two to three minutes later it was gone. Now I'm trying to figure out what's going on before I continue.
I guess I'm going to re-post the thread and see what happens, since I'm not getting much of a response here :/
Well that's not really fair of you. You gave them less than 20 minutes to reply.. its new year's day. I wouldn't post it again.. the donor title is a lot of money and it's a big waste if you get banned now. If you want to raise money for this charity its best to wait for a moderator.
And that site you should, anyone could've made that. Yes there are people that are low enough to fake a charity website.
My mother died of cancer and My daughter has thyroid cancer and I feel strongly
for the cause however BHW is not the place to be promoting charities as the whole forum
will be full of charity threads in no time and the scammers will have a field day.
If you were smart you would've posted in the JV section for a profitless JV asking members
to help you promote your charity on other platforms.
That would've got you the publicity on BHW without causing all the upheaval
that you are.
