    Hey BHW,

Since discovering this forum, I've decided to try to begin my own experiment to learn more about SEO to improve my skill set for m 9-5 and also to have fun and make money on the side.

Anyways, I bought a keyword from @ZlatanTheGod ($40) that has seemingly low competition and like 77k/month in traffic (gaming niche, mobile traffic), along with 2 domains from @Nargil ($55 premium and $15 regular domain) that are sorta gaming niche related (I was going to repurpose).

(I read @warriorsam53 's Ranking under $100 journey experiment and that's where I got most of my initial ideas https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/case-study-ranking-a-cpa-website-with-only-100.919276/)

My goal is to rank top 3 for this keyword. I probably won't monetize right away but will add in Adsense or a CPA (although I am new to this and don't know the best route to take for monetizing yet)

So here's my strategy (laid out in steps so you can critique by referring to step #)

    1. Set up hosting for both sites from different accounts to minimize footprints
    2. Set up multiple web 2.0's to act as filters (I will write 3-4 articles for each, may take a while but already spent a lot on the domains and keyword)
    3. Buy a third domain with keywords in domain name, with separate hosting (this will be money site)
    4. Money site will include a download for the keyword, with a 1500-2000 word article about the game. Everything will be on the home page. I will add on Terms and About Us page as well, and possibly one other page with something similar to keyword.
    5. Link premium domain to money site (41 ref domains / 11 TF / 23 CF)
    6. Deciding on either blasting GSA links to web 2.0 as filter, then to 2nd purchased domain (10 ref domains / 0 TF / 14 CF)
    OR
    Buy some SAPE links.
    7. Point domain from Step 6 to web 2.0 (filter), then to money site
    8. Use URL shorteners and for domain from Step 6 and get links from GSA

I realize I spent a lot of money on this but I feel alright, as it was all a learning experience. I also realize I may have missed some major steps and have taken unnecessary ones, so please critique my strategy and if you have any advice for me. Thanks!

I think I will make this a journey, although I feel weird calling it a journey thread since I am such a newb and am going to be making a bunch of mistakes.

Posting question and hopefully someone will see this thread that can help: Is it a better idea to use a domain I purchased with the 53 ref doms and repurpose for money site (very slightly related to niche but not really) or get a keyword relevant domain name and point the older domain to the new one?

The biggest bit of advice I can give you is to use 100% unique content, even for your web 2.0s (you might get away with spun content for tier 3). Since this is going to be your money site and not a parasite, it's crucial that you make sure you look after your investment.

For the shorteners, I'd recommend against using GSA to build them, by and large they're pretty terrible. What I'd do is use GSA>Shorteners>Web 2.0>bit.ly> Money site. Obviously you don't want to be doing this for every backlink since it'll be spammy looking, but it'll help.

Social signals are also important as a way to show Google that your site is popular. The effect won't be immediate, but over time the increase in these signals will really pay dividends. Also, are you content locking the download, or are you using adverts on the site to monetise it?

I'd also recommend that you do this pretty slowly. I can understand the need to build things quickly, but if it's not a parasite, it won't be able to handle the velocity of these links. There is the potential of a sandbox effect taking place. I've not had that happen in a long time, so it may not be a thing any more. However, it's always better to ere on the side of caution.

Once you get everything up and running, it would be a smart move to emulate what you've already done. Mainly because if a competitor tries to oust you from the serps, if you've got a few sites on page 1, the decrease in revenue won't be as bad. If you've only got 1 site on page 1 and you get booted, the hit will be a lot worse. There's also the thing that the more sites you build, the better you become at doing it.

gaming niche? if this is game hack you can make your website a clickbait but dont put any hack there actually. and make bunchload of parasites in that niche, link them from your website and anywhere else.

if you planned doing game hack and have good domain its not worth losing it (ban in G)

That's exactly the purpose of it.

I understand this, but my question is: why has my site ranked for spun and re-written content? Is that considered unique? Like I copy/paste but then I also re-write and add my own style to it. Basically like adding a more interactive content with the readers.

    Thoughts?

Yeah the search volume is crazy high. The top 3 pages also have like 1-2 backlinks each according to majestic but they wrote some in-depth content with pictures and links to download and everything.. and they even have the keyword in the domain names. I have a suspicion the first one might have a PBN or something, so I'm gonna try PBN Hunter to see.. I'll report results. Otherwise, yeah I feel pretty confident, even position 2-5 will be good enough traffic.

Thanks for the input! I definitely am going to write all the content myself (not spun), it'll take some time but I don't mind doing it that much.. it's basically what I do during my day job too.

For GSA shorteners, I was only going to do that for maybe 10-20% of my links to give my links some diversity but definitely not the main plan.

I really don't know how I'm going to monetize it for now.. my traffic is coming to download something, so I was considering a survey CPA thing but I don't think that will convert well because nobody else on front page has it, they just offer it for nothing. Also the first 3 sites don't even have Adsense on it, like its not monetized at all from what I can tell.

That's a really good idea with emulating multiple sites with my strategy, I will definitely do that too.

    Thanks for all the help

My 2 cents, but I feel like spun content still does work a lot but there is still the potential of it getting flagged. For instance, at my work we spun content like 150 times but all for different cities (manually spun) and its all the exact same format with the headings and lists in the exact same place but just worded uniquely and it definitely worked.

I don't understand.. why do you think I should just clickbait them but not put the actual content they are searching for? Also, its a download, not a game hack so idk if it being a game hack was relevant to your strategy.

Btw I see you EVERYWHERE on this forum lol, you're like the most active user I think

Spun and rewritten content will rank the same as manually written content, as google's algorithm can only tell if the content is unique. Not if it is spun.

But when you start to outrank your competitors they will check out your content and your backlink profile content, and if it is all spun crap then they will report you to google and your site will be penalised.

That's why you should always use quality content on tier 1.

This service is unique manually written content that passes copyscape, but it's not money site content to convert visitors. It's perfect for your tier 1 though.
    https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/c...handwritten-highly-unique-1-300-words.858663/

These two are both pre written articles that are usually great quality. The problem is, as they are pre written, they may not be exactly what you need. For example, you might have a page about red ford cars, and the chance of them having an article about red ford cars is slim, but they might have an article about ford cars in general, or at the least, they'll have a lot of articles about cars.
