Hello guys. Do you remember my post I made days ago here? https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/what-to-do-if-someone-else-steal-your-content.1337865/

Well, keep these guys on mind for what I'm going to say.

So, Today I left the computer and my website was fine. Then I come back hours later and it's completely down. I'm using a VPS that I bought and setup YESTERDAY and today was down already.

I couldn't get what was happening, but since my website was down for hours, I changed the DNS and moved back to the previous hosting (Thankfully i didn't disabled the old hosting yet)

Now hours later I see the problem on the VPS is addressed, by its own.

Anyway, since I like to keep a monitor log on my website, now that I get the access I'm noticing a lot of weird things on the log.

That is, there have been thousands of requests to pages that do not exist in my site (like: mysite.com/wUWMoJJ4UO where wUWMoJJ4UO change for each request) and as referer there are various URLs of the site that has stolen my content and of which I told you in the topic before. The User-Agents vary for each request and there were like tens of requests per second.

What does this all mean? What had happened to my site today?

I think it was an attack that was meant to take your bandwidth. And I think it worked, if your website was down. There are systems to protect you from this. But you should really talk with your VPS provider about the issue and how to resolve it.

But was made by the guys that stolen my content? Why their website is on the refferer?

I can't say if it was an attack made by the people from the other website. But if I were to attack a website with this kind of attack, I wouldn`t place the referrer to my website, it would be a big red flag, I guess...

This can be an attack or a way to make their website look more authentic or both,
in both cases, you can solve such a problem just by blocking the traffic by IP & referrer
