Can someone explain how they are monetizing these type of websites? I do see them selling stuff on the right, is that just it?

This website is promoting "SMC Big Profits at Home Kit" and they get paid some percent of the amount when buys it. And yes, most of the websites just monetize them this way but I did see some sites having email submits.

If it's SMC then it's probably just an affiliate with them, it's a HUGE company that basically sells you a make money kit which ends up being a scam.

I know some CPA companies pay you 2.50 a lead or so just for a 1 page submit. You can Google the company lots and lots of complaints.

SMC affiliate marketing and as you said you thought it was targeted, I would assume it was either a tab change, pop up, or other such placement. If I am right, then it could be an affiliate making money on the products, but a PPI guy giving you the goods. 2 separate (maybe not) people. One paid (for placement), and one paying for placement in hopes of affiliate cash.

PS. Check your PC for spyware and viruses if this is the case.

SMC= Specialty Merchadise Corporation. Tom Bosley A.K.A. Mr. Cunningham from the Happy Days show is their spokesperson. They sell cheap chinese chotchkies and various other junk at "wholesale" to their members. Members then resell it through catalogs, online, flea markets, stores, etc. It costs to be a member and have access to members only pricing which is not really wholesale and they dropship. You can find most of the stuff they sell cheaper at Wal-mart. For the most part, it's a scam but they advertise like crazy. They just started the affiliate program and they pay per signup. I don't know which network they are on. Because of the lagging economy, these "work from home" type scam programs are gaining popularity because people that can't find jobs are willing to spen their last dollar with the hope of getting something going that pays the bills. This isn't it.

yea obviously. OH I MAKE x amount. Let me send you a kit and show you how i make x amount.

    Which translate to
I dont' make X amount per month. let me sell you some products. By selling the products i might make X amount per month.

PS. I am not going to send you any real money making methods. I'll just tell you about google. Maybe tell you about how much money you could make. Give you a little insight into adsense.

Tradek#y and an eb^y account will stand a lot better chance at making you money than SMC crap.. Now that I think about it, I might be able to sell that at DP or fiverr as an ebook.
