So this is the code I get after I generate my link:

    Code:
    <a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=cupcakes&tag=xxxxxxxxxx&index=grocery&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325">eqf</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=xxxxxxxxxx&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

I can see the main link code, but what is that image code? is it vital for user to view this 1px image?

ignore the image - wrap the link around whatever you want, i.e normal link, 301, etc - the 'tag' is the important bit.

It?s a hidden tracking beacon for Amazon. It calls a tiny (1px x 1px) invisible image from Amazon every time someone comes to your page
