Can Scrapebox get your site sandboxed? Can it get my competition's site sandboxed?

I've been reading a lot that people are saying to be careful when blasting out backlinks using scrapebox because it can get your site sandboxed by Google.

How much of this is actually true?

If it can get my site sandboxed surely it could get my competition's site sandboxed using the same measures right?

If not what would be the difference between my site vs the competition?

I have a particular site that is duplicating my site on content and I figured I would blast out a few thousand links to my site but heck if that going to get my site sandboxed why not just point the barrel to the competition?

The sandbox effect is massively overhyped on BHW, most likely do to fear and a lack of practical experience.

Buy a cheap but huge xrummer blast and ping all the pages in scrapebox immediately on your competitions site.

See what happens.

No reason to risk your own site for this extremely scientific test.

I have done some experimenting with sandboxing. In my opinion the sites go for 'human review'. If they are found to be a worthwhile site then they are returned, if not then they have a penalty.

So, in short you might be able to get someones site dropped for a while, but if it is a good site then it will be back to where it was ASAP.

Intelligent people are careful with tools like sbox because they can backfire on you if mis-used.

And intelligent people focus more on building their own empires rather than wasting energy trying to destroy others.

I Have been sandboxed pretty hard with about 20 sites at once, It didn't effect me much because I have hundreds. If used incorrectly anyones site could be sandboxed but no one really knows the threshold

Well said, 100% agree.

Depends, intelligent people support others like them, their intelligent ideas and are not affraid to recognize it like the ignorants do. The only mistake the intelligent people can make is to write a post only to explain to these ignorants why the Earth resolves around the Sun... when the things are so obvious.

This is completely false, I've had two sites stuck in the 600 graveyard for a couple of months which was caused by building links to fast. One has just come out, so indicates some sort of age delay. His theory makes sense, but I don't know anyone whos tested it.

Not sure about that. I know go0gle has staff in India that check spam reports, I had a referal url as jury.google.com and the ip was from India, I got no traffic at all from india, so this was manual but was caused by some up their own ass crack bloggers for me spamming their blog with a fooking smiley link haha. The other part is done algorithmically.

Can someone please tell me whats a safe number of sites to blast per day, also tips on how to formulate a good comment would be very very appreciated .. actually any tips at all would be super awesome.. :D

Unless you have adsense on your site I highly doubt that google would commit the resources to "human review" any particular one of all the millions of sites that they index.

gamecity is right, as per my experience blasting competitors sites with tools like scrapebox or xrumer results in more authority to these sites, they might get ranking down from top positions to 4th - 5th positions but within few weeks they will surely bounce back with more authority. so never try this to an authority site.

Mostly new sites having scrapebox blast get penalty for long may be 2 - 3 months.

Lets say I use link tier/pyramid/wheel/diamond/square whatever method to build backlinks to my money site, what is the "ideal" number of backlink blast should I use for each buffer sites?

And in combination with this with all the additional backlinks it then provides will be way stronger

Using these tools intelligently won't get you banned or SB. I use SE Nuke, Article Demon (great program), Blog Comment Demon, and other BH software. Mostly on my Web 2.0 sites, but also very lightly on my money sites with a direct link for backlinks.

Couldn't agree more..Well said

I have two competing sites in the same big-city niche. Both are hosted on the same server. I used a tool similar to scrapebox to post a couple hundred forum posts with links back to one of those sites. The linked site fell from position 6 to position 94 within 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours. Additionally, it pulled the twin site down too, but only to page 2 or 3. Both were on page 1. The fallen site stayed in the bottom 100 for about two weeks, then popped back to page 2. The second site that suffered the collateral damage has not risen to page 1 again for its primary shearh phrases.

Bottom line: yes you can tank a site quite easily if you are not careful, and when one falls hard, it can pull another you own down with it. I have several sites on that server and only the two in the same niche fell.
