My friend is doing his medical study and also wants to learn seo in his free time. Is it a good step for him or will he face lot of trouble due to non technical background?

if I - a dense mofo who doesn't get technology - I think your friend could learn it too :)
Your responses suggest that you have not only learnt seo but actually mastered it. You have helped many here.

There are definitely levels to SEO knowledge and it's perfectly possible to learn theory and tool usage without any tech background, but your friend will hit a ceiling sooner or later. I always recommend people working in the SEO industry at least have knowledge of HTML and how the web works, but a lot of the 'grunt work' can be done by following processes.

as much as I appreciate your compliment the truth is that I still suck at some aspects of SEO. Black hat and programmatic - whatever this means - SEO, for example, are alien language to me :)

But yeah, I know the basics and a few advanced stuff. Your friend will do fine if he's willing to learn

Learning SEO in his free time is a good step for him, as it can help him create and promote online content, but he may face some challenges due to his non-technical background and the complexity of SEO. So, your friend need to learn some basic technical skills like HTML, WordPress to make website user-friendly.

Non-tech backgrounds can learn SEO, good for a friend studying medicine, online resources help beginners with dedication, he can build SEO skills, overcoming initial technical challenges.

Yes you can learn SEO even without a technical background, however I think a basic understanding of building websites, HTML, CSS and Javascript is essential if you ever want to truly be good at SEO or you are not covering all aspects of SEO.

I originally was a mechanic, I decided I wanted to learnt how to build basic websites and moved onto how to market websites after that an that process made learning SEO and understanding a lot easier.

Absolutely, people with a non-technical background can learn SEO. While some technical aspects are involved, many SEO tasks don't require coding or web development expertise. In fact, some of the most successful SEOs come from non-technical backgrounds, bringing fresh perspectives and creativity to the field.

Absofuckinglutely.
Yeah you just have to put in quality time and effort. Learn by practical, not just the theory of it. Never believe what people and Google tells you about the correctness of SEO until they have been tested and confirmed by you as "what works"

Hearsay is not always what works.

If you've less resources to test and confirm, come to BHW and use the search button, there are your insights.

He can learn but being a medic and the resposabilities he will have, but yeah, everything will depend on the time and effort he applies to learn, because of the profesion might not have too much time and his learning process could take a little bit more than usual or could feel frustrated, so this learning process could also depend on your support, otherwise will be just a hobby for him but he might not put it on practice at and he will only have general knowledge as I said eerything will depend on his willing to learn.

Yes, people with non technical backgrounds can learn SEO. There are many resources available online that can help people from any background to learn basic SEO principles and techniques.
Sources like? What do you suggest other than BHW?

Anything can be learn these days and not much knowledge on coding is needed.

yes of course he can. it's so techy and high demanding skill, that's why need lot of time.

Sure, Your friend can learn SEO without technical background but for using SEO skills professionally would be a hard nut to crunch.

Yes, he can. First he must have a goal in his mind what he wants to achieve through SEO, it will be easy for him to understand what SEO is gonna do in that goal ultimately making it easier for him to learn different methods of SEO.
