I want to create a fancy domain name where the TLD .it is part of the exact match domain name (example: fuck.it, screw.it, etc)

Will my domain rank outside Italy especially in US and UK if the content is in English and I am targeting US keywords primarily?

No theoretical answers, please. Only share your first-hand experience.

Yes it will rank. But, you will not get in TOP while all the top is .com (and similar) domains

I haven't tried this ever with .it but most of my .in, .co.in rank for other T1 geos.

So, I assume it should rank too.

Welp :/ Had a really great niche idea.

asking for 30 pounds....
Well, they had an option to use somebody else's ID to cover EU residency issue earlier. Maybe that's why they have increased fee. Haven't used them for a while but it is worth checking despite high price.

I've ranked .it domains on UK SERPs. Just make sure you have prominent UK contact details on the site and use British English. Also make sure you mention spotted dick, cornish pasties and custard creams.

Thanks.
Do you have any idea on how to register .it domain outside EU?
I used 101domain. They offer a .it trustee service for an extra $10 on top of the domain.

Thanks.
it's asking for an Italian fiscal ID, unfortunately :(
That's the saddest part.

They will ask for ID for every country TLD you register.

And for the question, TLD doesn't have any ranking factor. So if you choose any TLD for your domain it will rank the same as the .com TLD.

In that case find someone trustworthy from Italy to register it for you.

Or just get a .com & create an Italian language website targeting the same, host it in some data center near to that geo.

That should also work in my opinion.

With all those late updates, it's very difficult to say how TLD impact nowadays on SEO. I have .EU domains ranking very well on USA keywords (and almost exclusively, on USA keywords). Some years ago I would have said you not to go for the .it domain, but nowadays I cannot bet this is still relevant at all.

Unless you happen to buy x.com I would not see any value in any particular domain (unless the domain has some history) to develop any interesting idea. Just register something similar with a .com or even better, try to search for a quality domain that could somewhat match, and then brand it whatever you like

Ah, I'll make sure to use mama mia every 2 sentences apart in that case.

It's an experimental domain I don't wanna spend more than $10 for the domain. It's asking for ~$30

Yeah that's my only option left

No, I am not doing this to target the Italian audience at all. I am doing this for a quirky domain name where the .tld forms part of the EMD name.

Yeah, that's what I needed to hear.

I know. I just wanna try having an innovative domain name (even found an unregistered one for .it). I know .com works equally better.
