I have a list of my youtube video urls which I'd like to grab the views and then regrab the views later on and see the change in the number of views. Then I'd like to remove the video urls from the list which aren't gaining views.

    Can I do this?

You could easily get a scrapper written which can do this. Or you can use youtube api to code a script to continously monitor your views. I dont think scrapebox can do this.

There is another recent thread detailing the method to grab all the urls from a youtube videos list from the descriptions using Scrapebox's custom "Grab" module. It can easily be adapted to monitor view count if you want. No need to code a scraper if you already have scrapebox. Just find the other recent thread using search. It will have all the information you need to do this.

I made a custom grabber in scrapebox that grabs the view count for each video, I know how to do that. But I need to be able to run it again and compare the changes in the views and be able to remove the video urls which are not gaining views.

I still don't quite understand how I'm going to do this, I need a bit of guidance.

Just re-run the grabber on those urls and use excel to compare the data.

How am I going to sort them in excel to separate the ones that aren't getting views so I can delete them from the list?

By sorting the view count from larger to smaller values or am I missing something here?

What I'd be doing is grabbing the views for all the videos in the list, that's easy enough to do, so then i'd have an excel file with all the video urls with the view count next to each one.

What I'd need to do then is to run the view grabber about an hour later and then compare them together, and I'd like to delete the ones which hadn't gained any views.

Youtube used to have a little graph icon where you can see all this data on videos? Has this gone?

It's still there, click the 3 dots under the video for the more button and and click on statistics.

This would be a manual task, but it would get the job done.

Yes, you would have the first column with youtube urls and in the second column their view count. Sort the first column by name. Rerun the grabber and get the second results. (to a different excel file) Now do the same for the second results (sort first column by name). Now copy the second results to the first results excel file and make sure both youtube urls match. Then I'd just divide the view count and sort it by number(from higher to lower). Delete the ones with 0 views and keep the ones with x>0

This will only work if you get the same youtube url count on both scrapes, because an error might occur and skip a certain amount of youtube urls.

There are probably other ways to do this. Google some excel tutorials.

Got any idea how I can make sure both urls match in excel for a very large list?
