Can I succeed without link-building?

I feel like the answer is "of course not," but if someone wants to come in and say yes, that would make me very happy.
NGL, I can't stand link building because it involves actual human contact and I'm an archetypal awkward neckbeard. ... OK, maybe not that bad. I have pretty good people skills. But still, fuck dealing with people. Link building sucks.

You can succeed without link building if your niche doesn't have strong websites targeting most keywords or if you have an extremely good keyword research process that only lands you keywords no one else is going after.
But for how long are you going to keep ranking without links before serious competitors spots you and snatches everything from you using their authority websites?
You can rank for sometime without linka but you'll certainly not for as long as you'd want.
By the way, there's a quote I saw somewhere that says something along the lines of 'the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is the will to do things they really don't like but really do need to succeed'.
You don't need to like something, if your business needs it, maybe you should do it to stand out and dominate.

Yes, having valuable content and optimising your website will help your website rank in Google. But that's not to say it works all the time; SEO is a combination of on-page and off-page elements. Both are necessary to get the desired result these days.

Yes, You can but in a niche that is not that much competitive and your website is fast, has information that is on topic with informative headers, images etc.

It is possible to succeed without linkbinding in SEO but it is a very difficult and time-consuming process. While you will refuse to build links your competitors may already be using linkbinding to increase their authority. As a result after a while they will be far above you if they use effective tactics. So keep in mind that sooner or later you will have to get involved with linkbuilding.
