    Hi roomates,

(I'll dress this Q up with a little color because
I almost fell asleep twice just writing it)

I felt "link building" was the wrong thread
maybe this is too but please don't kick me too hard
you might make the few marbles remaining in my head fall out

I know there is a way in html code to get a link to go to a specific
point on a landing page, for example directly to a specific article

WELL NOW! I'm using WP on my own domain
I'm using one of these silly themes that has a large
top portion of the page as already being set aside
for something else(boy hope that made sense!) in this
case a slider or carousel, but it does look nice

so when you're on the home page or externally and you click on the
link for that article, WP does take you to that page, BUT that
large area "up top" where the "slider is" is what shows when you click the link?

in essence it assumes (I guess) that your article is the first
    thing on the page...

so I wish it would land on that particular article "precisely"
(more or less) instead of taking you to that page only to be

staring at the slider (large area) instead of what I hope it would
be doing and that is placing you about a half page down at
    the beginning of the article?

AND I looked in the dashboard for a section that said "MAKE IT LINK
    DOWN HERE DAMMIT"
    but couldn't find one?

Anyone feel the strong desire to throw rocks at me right now?

    nevermind!

anyway if anyone knows the answer to my delima I'm
happy to bend an ear (I can't actually "open" the ear
because there's a potato growing out of it!)

    any advice would be appres-ski-ated

    garf!!!

    hali~!:)

( I always thought WP stood for "WHAT the PFUKK" now I believe it)

You need to modify the theme to not show that part of the header on pages.

You could alternatively make a jumplink, but the page link would have to be hardcoded.

If this is foreign to you, pay someone to do it or find another theme.
