I am always buiying stuff on Amazon, and I was wondering if I could get a percentage of that back by shopping through my own link. Will they allow it, or will they ban me?

    No you can't.
Sure way to get banned, and that stupid suggestion of using proxies won't work.

    Here are some tips:

    Save your affiliate link always
    Use other's computer
Use your other family member's name on the buyer account.
Shop and its like 30% off always :D

yes a private proxy would work. :-\
just do it under a friends name, and don't ship it to yourself.
no different then going to a friends house and doing it from his computer.

I am not sure if amazon looks out at the buyers IP address and tries to find out if they are their affiliates but I think that you can.

To be safe I would use some kind of IP changer and I would also clear all my cookies and temporary internet files before shopping.

    It's your choice. :)

Is it worth it for the measly 4% average savings? I wouldn't bother unless it was for something with a better payout but not for that amount.
