Thinking of giving up on ebay, all because some idiot i know hates me for getting him caught in something he was doing. Unfortunately the guy knows ebay fairly well and also knows i just started selling as a business seller to earn some income for bills. In an argument we had soon after, he more or less vowed to create more fake ebay accounts different emails you name it and that it will be worth the money to buy items and leave multiple negative feedback on me as it will shut me down, said he also knows others with established accounts who he will ask.

One friend told me to create a new ebay account, new email address etc., that he can only search for sellers by ebay username. I don't know if this is true?

Another thing is as a business seller you are obliged to display business information at the bottom of your listings, this includes name, address, email address contact number etc, i don't know if you can be found by these but i would assume you can be.

Thanks if anyone can offer any help, if i am fecked then please tell me also, what's the point of wasting my time.

p.s. I'm new i just came here because i don't know where else to ask this question. Thanks a lot.

If you have access to another physical address or want to spring for a private mailbox, and have a friend or family member whose name you can use, you can quickly set up a secondary eBay and/or paypal account. You can also (with more difficulty) set up such accounts with pseudonym info if you are careful enough. If the offending eBay trader communicated their attempt to defame your rep by eBay message, you can probably report the member using their system, and cite that message as proof.

Dont worry, Ebay just implemented a new system for feedback abuse. Just click on that button, explain your case and the feedback will be dropped.

Yeah to be honest i was more or less thinking that, not many other options anyway, so i'm guessing any more accounts i make could be found using a search for my first and last name or address.

Yeah ebay might be good that way for sure, but if someone is smart enough to leave genuine looking negative feedback from a new account or worse get an idiot friend to do it that i have had no previously "bad dealings" with then i can nether have them removed for being incorrect or due to differences with the member.
