    Hi everyone,

I worked my way up in the nightlife industry and became good friends with the top managment in nightclubs all around the city (over 20 something nightclubs for sure). I want to take advantage over it, but I want to do MINIMAL work.

For instance... I don't want to run a guestlist every weekend and run around like a mad promoter, collecting all the names, and getting the people to come to the current nightclub I'm promoting. Even though its profitable ($10/head), I still don't want to be stressing out and making sure everyone shows up.

So I found an option, but I have a GOOD FEELING that the system sucks and I will be loosing money very quickly, and right away...

    Here is what I'm thinking...
I would hire photographers to run around the city and shooting the nightclubs. I won't charge the nightclubs for this service, but I have to pay the photographers.

    I'm thinking of 10 photographers.
2 photographers at 2 large nightclubs
then the other 8 will be split into 24 nightclubs (3 nightclubs/photographer)
On average it's 300 people/nightclub, so to round it all off, let's say its 10,000 people, plus two big nightclubs, around 12,000 people.

    So friday, 10,000
    saturday, 10,000

So after all and all, around 7000 people a week will visit the site.
    for 10 photographers, it'll cost $1000/week

... So I have to make $1000/week with all of this...
This is where it gets a bit shitty...

I mean.. I can put up three small rectangular banners at the top and charge the nightclubs $100/week to display their banner. So okay, I made $300, I need $700 more to be in the profit... I can also make so that if a person wants their picture, they need to put in their email and the picture will be emailed to them.

So, so far I have $300/week + 7000 emails on weekly basis.
I could charge the nightclub owners another $100/week (maximum 2 email blasts a week) for promoting their website and sending it to all the emails.

So now we are at $500/week + email list growing...

I'm still $500 short/week just to make profit,
How do I do it? I don't want to sell any CB products because I know they won't buy... So....

    Any help...

Could be a stretch but make a nightclub directory/social network site giving the drink specials for the clubs and other news updates.

charge for the clubs listing. Get SEO rank #1 for the city clubs

    just thinking

JohnnyRabbit, I would love that, but unfortunately there is tons of sites that offer club listning for free, and as far as a social network, I was actually thinking about for the longest time. And if I have a forum with 7000 new members on weekly basis I have to constantly look over the forum, get moderators, make sure no one hacks it, etc.

    Headache and a half.

Sorry if I sound like a pecimist, its just I've seen this model done so many times before where it all came to failure (sadly, even tho it was a great thing)

Ermmm.... Sorry to be a kill joy, but where do you get your 7K number?

If theres 20K people out in your city over the weekend and your photographers are pimping the shit out of your site I would expect you to get 500 visitors/wk. What would make you think that you will get a 35% conversion rate?

From that number I would expect perhaps 5% (10% if your offer is good) to convert into subscribers ie. 25 subs per week.

How do I know these figures, I have a friend who operates a very similar operation, however our city has 80K people out on an average night.

Now, this being said, we have found a method that works for her and its fairly profitable, however it is about pre-promotion of your site - rather than post promotion. I don't mean to get down on you, however you need to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

    Hey aReJay,

I run this on a very small scale.
One nightclub a weekend, for 2 nights.
It gets about 500 on Saturday, and maybe 200 on Friday?
    A total of 700/week.
    So let's say 3000 month?

I get a bit over 2000 people visiting the site a month
