Hey everyone, I need some advice here
I was promoting my business in the descriptions of pinterest posts not just straight ads but different types of content too. Everything looked fine to me and I didn’t see any clear rules in pinterest’s policy against that. After about 16 days I started running promotion with direct links to my sellvia mall store and shortly after that my account got blocked
Do you think these two things are somehow connected? Like maybe the links + repeated mentioning of my store triggered it even if there was no obvious restriction in the policy? I’m a bit confused about what exactly went wrong here and what to avoid next time

You have to be careful when promoting things online in pintest for the reason that other people can pin your content. I'm pretty sure having the same thing over and over again (spamming) is not going to work well, you need to be unique each and every marketing point exposure. That means going above and beyond in different ways each time. If you manage to get back on there, just stick with a personal accouunt, its easier to stay under the rader with most of these things as personal (looks like everyone else else - thats also tthe key to lasting)

Tip, i do my own custom artwork on socials in memes, and i sometimes use my meme website name in the art work. Its always in a different drawing through, i don't do the same post more than once, and thats maybe key?

Hi. In my opinion, ask from Pinterest support for the reason of ban. They can guide you better about the reason of ban of your account. May be their algorithm detected some irrelevant activities from your account. In the end they can guide you better.

Yeah, most likely connected.

Pinterest flags repeated links + same domain, especially on newer accounts. The switch to direct links after ~2 weeks probably triggered it. Next time: warm up longer, don’t link in every post, and mix in non-promotional content.

it is very likely that these two things are connected. pinterest is extremely sensitive to what they perceive as spammy behavior even if it’s not explicitly listed as a forbidden act in one specific line of their policy.

Oh yeah, my money's on that being connected. Not 100% sure but confident enough that it is.
It's not likely to be one specific violation but more the pattern of repeated links, shifting into more directed promotions, that sort of thing. Would likely trigger it even if the post seems fine on its own. You might be able to work around it with a bit of pacing on the links next time and maybe not push the same domain too much fairly early on. Hard to say for sure, you might have to do a bit of trial and error to nail it.

yes, Pinterest is not a big fan of that

Next time be careful. Because they can ban you when they flag something like that.

I thought you made a thread just to ask to get banned from BHW o_O

They see the same domain showing up in multiple pins and just nuke the account as spam. Next time try keeping the link only in the profile bio and direct traffic there instead. Let the pins themselves be clean content without the store mention. And maybe warm the account for a month before pushing anything commercial. Also run each account in its own clean environment so if one gets hit it doesnt chain ban the rest

Repeated links and promos likely triggered it. Pinterest flag accounts that look too sales heavy. Try keep it more balance next time.

The issue here is likely due to Pinterest's algorithm flagging the account for excessive commercialization. What I've seen is that once you start adding direct links to ecommerce sites, especially if they're repetitive, it raises a red flag. The silo idea makes sense but in this case, it's not just about separating content, it's about varying the type of content and links you post. Focusing on more value-driven posts and using indirect funnels can help, but it's also about pacing yourself and not coming on too strong with the promotions.
It's not just about avoiding direct links, it's about creating a more balanced and engaging presence on the platform, which can help reduce the risk of getting flagged as spam.
This approach can help you build a more sustainable presence on Pinterest and avoid getting blocked in the future.
The key is to make your content look as natural and organic as possible, which can be a challenge when promoting a business, but it's doable with the right strategy.
In my experience, taking a more subtle approach to promotion can actually be more effective in the long run, as it helps build trust with your audience and avoids raising suspicions with the platform's algorithm.
By doing so, you can create a win-win situation for both your business and your Pinterest presence.

Have you asked pinterest support? What did they say?

Yes, definitely connected. Pinterest flags repetitive commercial links and store mentions as spam

Yes, it's likely that the two are related. Pinterest often triggers direct promotion, repeated same store links, and aggressive marketing as spam, even if there's no clear rule. Use fewer direct links, create value-based content, and keep promotion natural.

most likely connected. Same links + new account = flagged fast. Next time just warm up longer and don’t link every pin.
