I don't really want to go through the hassle of dealing with hosting. If I 301 redirect expired domains to some tier 2 web 2.0's I have created will that pass the link juice down the line to my money site? I feel like this could be an easier way of making a PBN but I could be wrong.

Web2.0s can be useful as part of a PBN but 301ing expired domains is not going to give the same benefit that it did a couple of years ago.

If a domain is receiving traffic with no effort then by all means 301 it and make use of the traffic but don't expect much of an SEO benefit for doing so. If you are to be using expired domains you want to be building sites on them and creating a PBN around them as opposed to just 301 them.

if you want to use 301, you should have the same niche expired domain then.
