My website was removed off of google for DMCA copyright reasons, basically what I did to counteract this was I moved my website to a subdomain on the same URL so instead of www.mysite.com it's now www1.mysite.com and it ranks again. Every few weeks it gets DMCA'ed again and the website needs a new subdomain. Since this keeps happening, I'm unsure of where to build my backlinks to. Should I build them to the root domain mysite.com? or to the most current subdomain which is www6.mysite.com

I just want to know the most effective way to pass link juice.

Sub-domain is no less than completely another domain, so building links to an URL and that gets DMCAed will never be counted as links to the root domains and that has nothing to do in the rankings. Yes, build them to the root domain and make sure that won't get DMCA'ed before proceeding anything.

Link building will be a Ongoing task for, you always need to run broken link checker and update, but there are chances, the time you complete updation you will again get DMCA.

I know it basically counts as a new domain, but I 301 redirect the old domains to the new ones so I think that passes SOME link juice
