I want to make GTA 5 demo website, with afcourse fake demo download. And almost developed a concept for the site, and then stummbled upon http://www.nowgamer.com/news/1879604/new_gta_5_beta_sites_pursued_by_rockstar.html

Rockstar is which hunting simillar sites...

Since I am new to IM, and this is suppose to be my first online venture, last thing I need is to have legal problems.
    Can they legally prosecute me?
What is the worst thing that can happen if I get cought?

Please answer from experienced BH users.

Why reveal your identity? Buy a domain with fake identity (don't hold me responsible for the effects, if any), use whois guard, and a off shore hosting company. You should be safe enough.

Try to use offshore hosting and registrar with DCMA refusing part. This way you will be avoiding all the problems.

what can you get away by using this method? what rights and limitations does it offer you?

    could you download
    GTA5 and it's crack
    once it's out, and
    put it up for sale
    for half of the price
    on your website??
    :Thinkingo

Looks like they are targeting domains with GTA in them (as a trademark infringement). Even private domain registration may not protect you as they will hit the registrar with a subpeona. Why bother with this as there are many other ways to make good $$$ online and not run into legal trouble. Not sure what a fake demo download is, so can't comment on that aspect.

Possibly but the question is why do you want to deal with the headache of worrying about this, moving your entire operation offshore... Are you really that sure the juice is worth the squeeze?

There are tons of niches available to go after that won't have you worrying about a lawsuit that will leave you financially broken. I personally wouldn't go through all that headache just to host a site that can be taken away at any moment.

Even if you do the above, Rockstar can simply tell Google and wipe you out of the SERPS (and Adsense if you're using it).

Unless you're planning on getting traffic by other means other than search traffic, I'd tread carefully as Ive seen Google wipe out guys like you from the SERPs.

Yes, you can get sued, but probably never will. And never reveal your niche!
