    Can a home page of a business website be ranked for different keywords? We all know that business websites have little or no content home page.

    The website has few pages like About us, Machines, Products, Capabilities, Contact Us,etc with little content on the pages. But the site's home page is already ranking on several keywords from 2 to 6 page.

    My fear is that if I build web2.0s and buy blogposts and target them on home page, site may not benefit as its the home page and has little content on it.

    What's the way?

    I think that depends how closely related the keywords are - The best thing to do is put your mind to creating a title and description that not only attracts a higher CTR but has variations of the keywords you want to rank for.

    For example if you wanted to target all 3 of these search terms;
    Green milk
    Blue milk
    Red Milk

    An example title would be;
    The Best Green, Blue and Red Milk From COMPANY NAME

    I hope that helped?

    Build additional pages for each keyword if they are different. Once you've done that google should hopefully notice that.

    Then build some branded/generic keywords to that page to get it on page2-4. Once you are there SAPE or PBN with exact match to really push ranks.

    Was just researching this subject yesterday, and after sifting through SEL, Moz and others, the biggest caveat is INTENT. Do the keywords align with intent of the main keyword? That could hurt conversions.
    Also another factor to consider is, anchor text ratio will not be strong if the backlink profile is muddled for various keywords, unless they are natural together with same conversion intent.
    Even plurals can have different intent.

    Yes, your onsite seo should be targeting multiple keywords and so should the content on your homepage. So I would suggest sticking some content in there to spruce it up a bit.
