If you have 20 domains on one single server, and google somehow decided that some domains on the site are spam, have low quality contents, are a micro niche sites, etc - can these bad domains effect other domains on the same ip?

    Can google do this?

I have one shared host with 20 domains on it and it takes like 20+days for google to index any domains on it (it used to be like 5-7 days) - so I'm nervous that this is the case of google penalties and I should get a new server or something?

    Thanks for all input!

I think there are a number of variables however on the whole, I doubt it.

A good example is Host Gator's/GoDaddys shared hosting plans. I have seen up to 80K unique domains hosted on a single server. Google realistically couldn't penalize all the Domains/Sites hosted on that IP because of a few bad eggs.

Not sure what you mean but Google de-indexed +200 of my sites on same IP in under 24hrs - but left c.40 still working. Does that answer yr question ?

google has not de-indexed sites but has definitely penalized some of my sites. I had 40 adult domains sitting on the same ip. One day they just stopped getting traffic. only that 1 ip. They were still in the index just way way way way way down

Yes they can do but their are other variables also... Anyway it's always advisable to cover your tracks... Although there is less chance of carpet ban but it's not impossible... I have seen it earlier also...

    Home Page:
They will do that if you interlink websites on the same ip because it will be pretty much obvious that the owner is the same. Otherwise the server/ip is not the reason.

They can but they have more advanced mathematics than just banning an entire ip. They wouldn't need to do that. But they will use ip to recognize other sites of the same making.

From my experience, google does indeed look at the individual sites residing on a IP if 1 domain gets a manual review.

And if they find other sites they deem not high quality or spam they either remove them from their index or lower down their ranking.

But I have ips I have used for the past 3 years and all of them works for me the same as they did day 1.

So for google to penalize IP highly unlikely as the ips do not belong to the users that are hosting Websites on them.

    But who knows for sure.

    Best,
    Kandor

So google can penalize the whole server/ip, but it is a rare case and you should be fine unless you really messed up, did I get that right?
