can google bots act as a click on affiliate links?

Hi,

I have some affiliate links set up as a 301 re-direct so that I have a nice permalink and not a horrible one.

I also have getclicky a real time analytics programe.

Today getclicky did not show any vistors to my site but my affilate program I used showed that my links had been clicked 8 times .

So either get clicky is wrong or my affilate program but I was wondering if a google bot could have triggered this?

Put rel="nofollow" or use javascript links if you don't want bots like google, yahoo, aol,... "click" your link

so it was them then?

Thought I might be getting paid then
