Can blogger blogs be built up to a decent authority?

Hi just a quick ramble maybe some of you may have had experience or experimented with this. Would it make sens to start up a blog-network on blogger and build this up to a decent level of authority?

I'm not speaking about spam blogs here, I'm speak about blogs with decent unique content that add value to the end user.

Some might say why not use wordpress and host it on your own domain? Well that would be ideal but unfortunately this project would been I would have to dish out thousands of $$ from the start for domains/hosting, $$ I currently can not afford to spend.

Any insight?

I have been able to rank a blogspot onto the first page with a few high pr blog comments. If you don't have any money you pick, Blogger or wordpress as both are good.

I will say that with blogger though my site danced forever, it took at least a month to bring it out of the depths (ranking number 500+) so keep that in mind.

Also, just remember that at anytime when you are using a free site that it could be deleted for no reason and without warning.

I recommend that you look at FatCow for hosting, it's ridiculously cheep and you might still be able to get a free domain with your purchase.

Hmm ok I'll give that a go... I'd also try to find some good discounts on bulk domains as well then if you have any ideas shoot

I ranked a blogger blog on the first page of google for a medium competition Dutch keyword, I only used +/- 20 manual blog comments, so it is possible...

did you know you could host blogger on your own domain?

But still blogger can delete the blog, if they get spam reports from your competitors.
