Im pretty new to After Effects and am getting these big white lines down either side of my videos after I render.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-UG29RVuzg&feature=youtu.be

I've spent hours looking for a way to remove them so my video is completely full screen!

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

Okay did you make sure that the size in the composition settings is the same as render settings. If you did then don't worry it looks sorta cool.

I don't see any white lines at all, it looks good from here however I would suggest rendering in HD

That comp could look sooooo much better if you rendered it out in HD, for the web I use 1080x720 and in the render settings I set it to H.264 which will give you an acceptable sized mp4 file best suited for youtube.

It's also worth noting that within your render settings, audio is checked off by default and must be checked on if you have any audio.

Those rings you can see in your gradient background can be eliminated by turning your project color depth up from 8 bpc to 16 bpc (alt+ click) to cycle thru.. 8bpc, 16bpc, 32bpc

Rendering in HD will also eliminate the anti-aliasing that you can see around the edges of your letters

    Good luck with it

I see the vertical bars white bars on both the right and left side and you are correct, they are annoying and distracting. If you are making videos for clients, they won't see past that glitch.

That said, follow the advice of Derek Foreal and RushingWind and that should clear things up.

    Hope that helps!

Ahhhh ok just had another look, I see what you mean now, it almost looks like the youtube frame is cut back like 10-15px on either side.

I don't have any idea on what might've caused that, I've never ran into an issue like that before.
