Hello, I need to automate a copy paste task.

Basically I need to be able to take a list of 2000 or more lines, and copy and paste them into a website field over and over and over while I wait for it to load, then rinse and repeat.

What's the easiest way to get this done?

Look into a chrome/firefox plugin called imacros. Should do the job pretty well.

Macros are good for that. You might also be interested, if you wind up wanting to do more sophisticated automation tasks, in AutoIt.

You're welcome. AutoIt is actual programming/scripting but it's super easy to learn. It's a really good way to get into coding with very little effort. Within a few hours you can have a good understanding of it and be automating just about anything. You can even make big software titles with it once you have it down. I use it when I want to whip up a Windows automation task really fast. If you wind up wanting to use it and you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. I'd even be willing to step you through making what you need for this task on skype: th3d0ct0r001

Some great suggestions here. Nice to see people stepping up to help others. Just an advice if you end up using imacros..

This plugin is super easy as you can record the actions you are trying to repeat. Once you record, edit the macro and remove the two lines which tells it to close all other tabs (close tab t=1or something.. i don't remember it lol) and also the line that tells it to visit that particular url. You can just keep the site open and repeat your macro for n times. That simplifies a lot of things. By the way, if you need to wait for sometime before repeating the macro, you can tell it to wait by adding a line in the end saying (wait seconds=n) where n is the number of seconds to wait. Hope it helps :)
