I am doing some local advertising and need some cheap local numbers(Kansas City Missouri).

These are just for redirect to my phone and campaign tracking.

I have searched this forum but can't find a thread in which anyone talks about this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are a number of alternatives, you can get a virtual phone number for $5+/month, a pay as you go phone for taking those calls, a magic jack if your internet is fast enough...

Depends on how you want to go and what you are doing with it. If you are doing anything illegitimate, I would completely recommend against it. It isn't here because phone scams are a felony. Furthermore, they are a pain in the arse to get setup due to identity verification and such.

You are taking a huge risk if it isn't for a legit business op. I work too hard for my REAL ' freedom ', to give it up in that kind of game play. The freedom to afford to do what I want, when I want...without working a day job. That's what this is all about in the first place...heh.

    Food for thought.

I am not sure why you think I would use these numbers for a scam.

I clearly said it's for redirecting to my phone and campaign tracking, as in which signs or advertising is most effective.

I already have a MJ for my main phone.

I am looking for virtual numbers and simply want to know if anyone here has used a company that is cheap and reliable.

That is all, I hope I was clearer this time.

    Check out callcentric.

    Code:
    http://www.callcentric.com/products/

I use them for local and toll free numbers and they are quitecheap. Starting at 1.95 / month for a pay as you go DID.
You can also get one for 8.95/month with unlimited incoming calls for business.

Since you need multiple numbers it may be an idea to just grab a toll free DID for something like 5.95 /month and just pay for usage, which I think is ~2 cents a minute for calls coming in from US.
This would let you move to other markets and just use 1 toll free number.

You can forward any DID you have with them to a different number using call treatments on their site.

DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with callcentric in any way. I am just a customer and have been happy with their service over last 18 months.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I checked them out and their prices are really good. The only complaint I have is to order the number you only get the area code and the prefix (816-600-XXXX) . I am trying to see the whole number before I buy it so I can try to choose one that is easier for people to remember from passing a sign.

I will probably use them (as cheap as they are) for other campaigns local campaigns though.

No way, bud. Not making any assumptions or accusations. Apologies if you took it that way, as that wasn't the intent at all with that comment. Just speaking out to anyone that may get that idea when reading this and have that purpose in mind.

Are you making money off that site?

They charge 8-10 cents per minute over 60 minutes per month!

    https://www.tossabledigits.com/pricing.php

    That's not cheap Dude.

Most of the sites charge between $3-10 bucks for the number and 1-2 cents per minute.

No problem, I re-read your comment after I posted my reply and I completely agree with you. I am trying hard to live my life with that sense of freedom you spoke of. I think it is the driving spirit of this forum.

I have used vumber.com in the past. I believe they are 9.95 a month and I am pretty sure you do have the choice of picking the number so your bandit sign campaign can be successful.

You can also look into a call capture system like 877infoline.com. Back in the day I used them a lot and I am sure that you can have several numbers for your account.

Just checked out their site and it's not exactly what I am looking for now.

Their prices seen fair except for the 5 cents per minute cost if you go over your plan minutes. Picking the right monthly plan would be smart, but as long as a campaign was making enough money 5 cents per minute wouldn't be too much.

It's just I am more at the testing phase right now and need lower price over most other factors.

I think a lot of their services/features would work for some other ideas I have though.

    Thanks.

Oh I didn't realize that you where going to be using the numbers for more then 60 minutes. If that is the case then ya, not a good solution.

There is another solution, you could use voip:

Free Did Numbers in the following area codes

    253
    206
    360
    425

    just sign up at ipkall.com

get an account at any sip / VoIP Provider (i think even skype?) --> forward number from ipkall to this account..

    Done :)

If anyone has a doubt, i can explain via pm how to do it in details.

If they provide numbers in the area codes you want, Les.net is incredibly cheap. I pay $2 per line plus a cent a minute. They're really great cust. service too. Good guys.

Hi i am also looking for a free did number so that Google can call me to verify stuff.. this would only be for inbound calls ie calls that I will recieve.. I do not want to call out to anyone..
I would really like it to contact me via Skype.. several companys offer this, but its not free.. ( hey i'm a cheapskate ok)
Call to skype is one.. but.. they dont use a DID format number.. its a Virtual Number.. and Google will not accept that. Has to be a real number... any ideas??

    Thanks

    Hello,
I think GlobexCamCalls is the right provider for US virtual phone (DID) number. I just bought Kansas City and Toll-free DID number for just 2.50 USD each :)

I recommend: GlobexCamCalls Virtual Number Provider

    Thanks
