    Hi everyone!

I have been lurking around here for a few years (!), but have not taken action until recently. I had some MNS sites and did some Clickbank article marketing a few years back, and made some money off it, but now I want to start a proper site.

Travel is my big passion, and I am able to write lots of good content about it?unlike when I markeded weight loss products on CB (stuff I hate to write about). Could anyone please take a look at my blog? Just the overall looks and feel of the blog, and if the content is ok (I am not a native English speaker). It is still in an early phase? I will PM the link to those who are interested.

Thanks in advance! If my plan works, I hope to contribute here with my method!

it's looking nice but it's too simple in my opinion. add some color in it (besides picture). also add alt text to the pictures, for SEO reasons :)

I will answer you here, beacuse i dont have 15 posts and the board doesnt let me send private messages :D

Once mine it's ready i'll send you!

In the mean time, first of all, the icon with e-mail from the right top side of the site doesn't work.
The text from titles and "looking for something?" on the top of the right side menus need a change in font. They are too....blurred? I dont know if its the right word, but thats what came into my mind. All text written with that font should be replaced (saw more text like that). In rest, i think its pretty ok. The content will be the main power of it, beacuse the template is straight KISS (keep it simple and stupid) which i understood its the best.

I have sent links to all of you. Thank you so much! I have received a lot of good feedback, and started to implement the changes suggested:

    - Written a few posts, with embedded videos. Scheduled these throughout the week.
    - Will fix the e-mail icon once I have installed a contact script.
    - Opened a Facebook page. I have also bought a Fiverr gig, with 50 real followers. I just need a little "foundation" to build the page on, to make it look more busy. I guess it seems a bit strange for somone to be the first to like a page? In addition to this, I have posted a status and added some pictures. Hopefully I will get organic followers eventually.

I have also e-mailed some of the tour operators I have used, and told them that I have written a review mentioning their business. Hopefully some of them will link to my review (these are small operators, so I will get targeted traffic if it works). Also, I have posted on the wall of some Facebook pages where my content might be interesting to their followers.

My strategy is basically to use niche forums and other blogs to attract visitors. I am active on several travel forums, post good informative posts and have a solid rep there. As you probably know, travel is a niche with lots of competition, so I will try to drive traffic from forums and social media until my page has aged a bit. After a while, I will target long-tail KWs, but for now I have more luck with social media.

I have gathered some good info on KW research, so I will implement this into my strategy on a later stage.

I also run two Tumblr blogs, where i add photos through Tumbloadr.com (I add a few days worth of photos at a time, and post maybe 20 a day on auto, throughout the day) where the click-through links are about 50/50 to my index page and sub-pages. These are re-blogged by other travel blogs, a lot of my traffic comes from this, and it is is highly targeted. People actually stay for a while, click through my pages and even click on my Amazon ads! I split test a bit here, some have a caption with "More pics here!", while others are just a pic with a link.

In addition, I run other "autopilot" stuff, mainly linkcollider.com, where I have a few gigs running simoultanously with shares/tweets on my index page as well as my latest posts. I am not sure whether this is any good, but it is free, and I am sure it won't hurt (I have some social traffic, which I guess is from this).

As this is somthing I like to write about, I don't mind spending time doing it. Even though it might not pay off (competitive niche). Unlike when I have marketed other stuff, which I really don't care about, I actually enjoy creating value and writing about this.

Since you got an gallery i would prefer to post all images in there and hotlink(or something similar) them into your blog posts instead of posting pictures direct in the blog post - The whole point with an gallery is to see all photos in one place instead of browsing each post.

Also i think it would be wise to not mix countries with tags, as for now there is 'wall', 'street art','rome','china' and so on. Why not create a second tag system with custom_fields(not for noobs) or a sub-category for all countries so it's easy to overview where you've been and sort posts by location.

As for SEO make sure to add meta description and change the title at your homepage.

Just my opinion, on top of my head, good luck :)
