Hello, I would like to help a family member of mine who has been falsely accused of a crime he did not commit. the information still exist on g00gles front page. my uncle has an uncommon first and last name. His charge can be found very easily due to that reason.

Floate is not as rare as you would think. Charlton might be.

As mentioned in the EU the 'right to be forgotten' thing is your best bet. Outside of that you handle it the same way you handle negative reviews of a business: Reputation management. This is done primarily by creating a lot of positive pages/sites about the person and ranking them above the bad things you don't want to be seen. Push them off the first page or even back a couple of pages and nobody is ever going to find it. You can do this yourself or check the BST there are a lot of reputation service providers here on BHW as its important for a lot of businesses to be able to hide negative stories/reviews of their business. Creating profiles/web 2.0s on authority sites is the easiest ways, use the exact name and many of them will rank higher all on their own even without building links to them (think about things like a facebook page, create a subreddit on reddit with the exact name as the title, etc.). Make 15-30 of these and you can push the bad stuff back a page or a few pages and nobody will ever see it.

I was looking into doing the reputation management myself but it seems as if this will be taking me a lot of time to do. I'm interested in talking to reputation service providers to see what they can offer. I live in the USA, not too sure if that makes a difference.

No, it doesn't matter where you live. Yes, it is time consuming so its whether you would rather pay for it or spend time on it. Its very doable though, just pick out properties on authority sites that will let you create a page where you can do onsite SEO (where you can make a title, keywords in the URL, some text on the page, etc.) to place the full exact name. You'll find that these will probably outrank the negative pages you're trying to hide without even having to build links to them, or only building a small number of links to them. But yes, coming up with enough sites to do push the negative ones back a few pages can be very time consuming if you haven't done it before so it may be better for you to just hire a service provider to do it.

I've done this, it's not hard, but ti does take time of course. Anything about that exact name can rank higher, then you can go with variations. But remember 2 things, first, I said ANYTHING, second, the news sites tend to sink a little as they age, while you can churn new pages and sites to easily stay above. Plan carefully the linking part, which needs to be smartly done.
