Though I wouldn't suggest you to use free hosting but rather go for the 1 cent Hostgator plan since its a lot more better than those free hosting websites. But still, if you prefer to go with the free hosting, check out some of these threads:

It is not free, but close. For just $1/mo (not affiliated)

This host is of good quality unlike all the free hosting services.

    Plus no ads.

^^ Exactly. All free hosting services are slow and can even be bad for ranking. And of course you don't have full control of your site. Lot of these services will redirect your site to their homepage after you begin to get some more traffic.

They're right. Paid hosting is better, more control, but then again it depends on what you want. If you want to create a blog and make money of off it, then paid hosting is better

    Recommendation: Hostgator
    Code:
    Non-Affiliate
    http://www.hostgator.com/
    Affiliate
    http://bit.ly/15xktgX

however, if you want something for fur or to try it out, like from this list
    Code:
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/8-unusual-and-surprising-uses-for-wordpress/
Then I recommend a free one

    Recommendation: 000WebHost
    Code:
    Non-Affiliate
    http://www.000webhost.com
    Affiliate
    http://bit.ly/1b2JtDy

Thanks if you use my affiliate links, you don't have to.

If you're serious about IM then why are you even considering free hosting? There's some reasonable hosting companies out there charging from $1 per month. Come on, if you're not prepared for such a small outlay then you should look for a 9-5 job!

Do not go with free hosting since a lot of the time the load time of the websites is very bad and you put hard work into
the website and do not even know if the hosting company will be around tomorrow.

First think about how to earn a few bucks for hosting and go from there.

Seriously, a webhost you can trust is like the first real investment you should make if you're doing anything relating to blogging, assuming you don't want to go the tumblr/etc route. You can get cheap hosting a bunch of places. Free though, you're asking for trouble

The key to starting out successfully is putting your best foot. Forget the free hosting, save up for this minimal investment if you don't have the cash at the moment. In the long run the investment will pay for itself in multiples, at least with experience if anything else.
