I launched 4 sites about 2 weeks ago with the keyword in the domain for low competition words, two were plain HTML and the other 2 were based off WordPress. The 2 WP sites were created using the FlexSqueeze theme. All 4 sites share the same link building strategy: Scrapebox Rapid Indexer --> SENuke Web 2.0 Blast + Bookmarks --> Scrapebox Blast all the Web 2.0s. Basic strategy I have used for the last year+. After 2 weeks, my HTML sites are both in the top 10 but my other two WP sites are still no where to be found in the top 100. Google has indexed them, Yahoo shows about 1000 backlinks, but they are not showing up in the SERP. Can a wordpress theme (FlexSqueeze in this case) cause an immediate penalty with Google, regardless of content? It sounds far-fetched to me, but this theme is usually associated with selling products and developing squeeze pages... things Google generally does not like.
