    Hey guys,

Been struggling with a whitehat site of mine for over a year. It was sandboxed for 8 months, and then came back for about 1.5 months. I started creating links again and then it disappeared again. Now I'm trying to get some high PR links to my homepage to pull it out of the sandbox.

Do you guys think a link from the Yahoo Directory, as well as BOTW, and the Business.com directory will help me get out of the sandbox?

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

When you get out, take a hard look at how you're building links. If you are going for long term placement, small 1k and below blasts per day to your auto approves should be ok on an established site. Toss 40k at it and you may get unwelcome attention.

Yea I haven't even been doing close to 1k a day. I originally did a blast of about 200 links from some Link Farm Explosion blogs. I was sandboxed after that, and finally I deleted all of those blogs, and my site came back within 2 weeks. While it was out of the sandbox I stupidly paid for and got "mininets" created for 10 of my pages on my site. As soon as the first mininet was completed the site got sandboxed again. The mininet consisted of links from sites like ezine articles, wikidot, and the creators private PR 5 blog network. I now feel that I may have to remove all of these links. Sucks since I paid $800 in total for all of them. Thats why I was thinking I should leave them in place and just get some high PR backlinks to offset it. Not too sure what to do....

How do you know you were sandboxed? What you're describing does not sound like you would get sandboxed from it. Was your site de-indexed? How thoroughly did you check the SERPs? Many people think that bouncing out of the main index for a day or two is being sandboxed. Others think that being on page 50 or even 15 is being sandboxed.

It's really hard to get sandboxed. I blast my sites all the time with backlinks and I don't have any problems. I bounce around in the SERPs while I'm backlinking but that's normal.

    paper-chase,
what does your sandbox look like? are you only slapped for one keyword? or is it across the board?

i think my "link wheels" fucked me over as well... i deleted them 2 weeks ago and still down there... google still has them cached tho

Wait some times and keep building links... You may get benefitted from your mini nets... Links from big directories will not guarantee your coming out of sandbox but they might help...

Just keep building consistent links... work more on article submission, press release kinda stuff... Get more variations in your campaign like rotation in anchor text keywords, urls from your site... Do some on page optimization also...

When my site came out of the sandbox I was ranking top 10 for multiple keywords and multiple pages. I was receiving close to 300 hits a day from Google. Now that my site is in the sandbox I am only receiving about 5 hits a day from Google and those are for searches for the name of my website (the only thing it ranks for). Using Market Samurai, I can see that all the other top 10 spots I had are now between 500-600 (basically gone).

It was originally sandboxed for 8 months, it came back for 1.5 months, and now its been sandboxed for the previous 2 months.

I have a feeling that the mininets I had created when the site was back up is what is causing me trouble. The mininets are all on good PR domains though, so I'm not sure what to do. I'm not sure if I should delete them entirely, or perhaps start sending backlinks to those mininet pages directly to build their PR up? Then in Google's eyes those mininet pages will look like good, quality sources of information...?

I really appreciate the help guys!

are the mininets linking to each other? like a link wheel? that could be a bad sign...

Well I had a mininet created for 8 different pages. Each mininet consisted of 20 articles posted in various places. Each article had 3 outgoing links. 1 link to the money page, and the 2 others linked to random properties in the same mininet. In theory it sounds great. None of the mininets however link to eachother. I have a feeling google treated them like linkwheels and discredited them. Its been almost 2 months and some of the properties still aren't indexed despite repeated tries. Most shockingly, some of the articles posted on the PR 5 blogs still aren't indexed. Maybe Google hit all of his blogs as link farms, and I have been penalized as well??

my suggestion is build more than one website. If the website in sandbox, you still have another.

    i usually build 5-8 website on same niche. i don't care sandbox.:D

i was penalized shortly after i had a 36 spoke link wheel set up... however, i was also doing a bunch of other link building, so i don't really know for certain if that is what caused the penalty

instead find the authority site in your niche and get a link from there.

i was in a similar situation and i have done only 2 things to get out :
    posting new content
spin some articles and posting them to Articlesbase - the autoblogs are picking the articles and i am getting steady backlinks every week
i was doing this for a week or so and after like 10 days i was out of sandbox (being there for 5 months)

maybe this will work for you too

    cheers

Just put my submission in to the Yahoo Directory....I'm thinking about submitting to BOTW as its only $149, whereas Business.com directory is $299...any other good quality directories I should submit too?

Just got my link accepted into the Yahoo directory. The email said it would take 2-4 days to show up. Hopefully it helps!

I am in the same position as you. I targeted a huge niche and was constantly in and out of the sandbox. I would appear in the search engine for 2 days and disappear for 1 month... and that went on for a full 9 months. Finally, on Christmas Eve ( great day huh ), it finally came out for good. I has not disappeared at all for 2 weeks and I am building links to it now.

The problem lies in domain age + how big the niche is you are targeting. The more search volume their is for that keyword, the more likely you will be sandboxed. All we can do is either wait more and keep building links.

Yea your experience is basically the exact same as mine. Thing is, when mine stayed out for a few weeks I went too aggressive with the link building. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I do. Keep your link velocity the same every day and you should be fine. Did you do anything specifically to help you get out of the sandbox for good?
