for all of us that have been posting about a camtasia version for the mac, its coming out in about a week and will be sold for $99 at first. same price as i paid for screenflow. i like screenflow alot and it does what i need it to do. i did learn on camtasia first and am looking forward to seeing what techsmith has come up with.

this was just a fyi thread for those that are interested.

ps-i will def be posting to see if anyone of you geniuses will be able to grab and share one with the rest of us!!

Good stuff. I'll definitely check it out, though I'm in love with Screenflow.

Meh, it's kinda pointless bringing out camtasia now since Quicktime will do screen capture for free in Snow Leopard which comes out in 2 weeks anyway.

downloaded the trial and playing with it now. if you are thinking of doing the same he is a list of know issues that techsmith includes with the download:

    4. Known Issues
    -----------------------------------------------------------

    - If Keynote is in presenter mode, the hotkeys for starting and stopping the recording will not work unless you change this setting: Keynote>Preferences>Slideshow and check "Allow Exposé, Dashboard and others to use screen"

    - Recording system audio with Audacity as a intermediate does not work as expected

    - An audio icon is displayed for MP4 files created in Jing Pro that have no audio (muted)

    - Guides and snaps sometimes do not work as expected

    - Applying SmartFocus actions to existing actions will reset scale, position, rotation and crop settings

    - Changing the resolution of your screen during recording yields unintended results

    - Font and color panels sometimes do not behave as expected

    - DRM protected files are not editable in Camtasia:mac

    - Imported DV files are displayed at the wrong dimensions

    - Having Perian installed may yield unexpected results

    - System audio volume cannot be changed during recording

    - When plugging into a projector and the Editor is already open, you may need to zoom in/out on the preview window or resize the application window to view your timeline
