    Hello everyone.

I'm launching a website for selling Portuguese gourmet foods and drinks.
I need you help for the domain names.

In English, the word that´s used for the place where people store food, at home, usually near the kitchen is "Pantry", right?

So I'm thinking of calling it "Portuguesepantry.com" (Ideas are welcome).

But for French and German I really don't know the best term for this word/domain.

    Can you guys help?

    Thanks a lot.

Not really, we call it a kitchen. A pantry tends to be a place where people store shit that they do not really want in their kitchen.

The pantry is where you store the extra food. But it's an outdated word. They do use the word for food pantries though, but that is like a food bank. A food bank is where food for the poor is kept. Is portuguesegourmet.com taken? I like portuguesecuisine.com too.

Not outdated down south, we put food in the pantry and dishes in the cupboard.

ATasteOfPortugal.com is taken, but work around the concept. Maybe it'll be available in another tld.

The next couple of ideas I won't verify to see if they're already taken but it'll be a quick brainstorm:

    IsleOfPortugal.com
    LittlePortugal.com
    PortugueseKitchen.com
    CusinhaPortugal.com
    SoulOfPortugal.com
    EdiblePortugal.com
    aBiteOfPortugal.com

Thanks guys. That will help me a lot, since I need a good domain for this.
If you need a great Jam or a Porto Wine, just let me know :)

Or a great Gin, by the way. There's s few Portuguese brands.

Even though we don't tend to have pantries in the UK these days, the word's meaning is still well known.

In the context of your website therefore, I think PortuguesePantry is a good name.

I'll make a suggestion for the UK only. If you are selling specialist gourmet food and wine then you are targetting a more discerning clintele.

People like that value authenticity so a good Portuguese word would also work well.

    Epicurista
    BoaComida
    Alimentos
    Saborear
    Prazer

    Something along those lines.

    Hey Duffer :)

That's a good input, but I'm also thinking of Foreigners that come to Lisbon on vacation and when they arrive home, want to buy some portuguese products online. Those guys won't search for Portuguese names, I guess.
Because they don't know the language.
