Question for the collective. I created a website to rank and rent. While doing my research I came across a video where the host mentioned in California (and probably other states) that 'if' you build a website that is for an occupation that requires a license from the state (ie. dentist) you 'must' list the license number on the site before it goes live or big $$ fines from the state. The host did not provide a citation or reference just her experience. Is this accurate? Anyone have a reference I can read regarding this issue? My plan is to build the site rank it and then send some leads to potential clients. I won't be able to build, rank and rent 'if' I can't publish the site. Thoughts? Thank you.

Never heard of such thing.

But a simple google search can help you.

Just look at top result for lets say dentist in LA.

Check their website. Do these websites have license number.

Just searched for dentist in california and dont see any license number and I never heard about it.

Relax, anyways you are not offering your own services, just promoting them, talk with your lawyer or search for info if u are worried enough.

I did do research before posing here with no luck. Even called my local state rep's office and got a voicemail message the mailbox was full and could not leave a message.

Thanks for the replies
