I am trying to end the process belonging to a classroom management application my teachers have installed on our classroom computers. But of course, when you try to close them with task manger, or Process.Kill() it, you get a nice little ACCESS DENIED messagebox on your screen. I'm looking for a way to kill the process. It must be nondestructive, i.e. I can't delete any of the files.

    Thanks,
    Schuyler

I don't think that permission restriction is .Net based, but a system permission restriction. I don't believe windows allows any user process to terminate a system (or other user's) process. I'm not sure whether you can spawn your own "higher" process in some way that will be able to kill the system process. However that being said, it is a bit out of my bailiwicks and someone else may be able to provide more specific information.

Non-programmaticly, of course, you may be able to do something with safemode, command prompt, etc -- all the standard work arounds.

    Best wishes :canabis:
