I am in the process of creating my own youtube videos and would like to put some popular soundtracks in background.
As expected, youtube is able to detect I am using copyright music. Is there a way to bypass that? Perhaps tweaking the tones/pitch etc.?

    Thanks

That won't work, youtube is very sophisticated. Look up the way that a "song spectogram" works. You would need to really alter the 'sound pattern' of the song, perhaps with a mashup or a remix that wasn't produced by a big recording stupid. That said, most of the copyrighted material stays up on youtube. I've gotten one of those notifications and they left the video up. The only people they seem to be very strict about are partners, unless the recording studio DMCAs your video of course.
