Hi, let me introduce myself, I am a beginner at internet marketing. I have discovered this forum from a friend of mines and I have to say, this forum has motivated me so much to make money at home.

Anyways, I have been looking on Flippa and these guys are selling websites that create a substantial amount of income.. with very few or no maintenance....

Why are they selling it???? Most common answers I got are " I am starting a new project and need money to invest". I find that a BS answer.

Are these sites reliable to buy????

I'd like to buy a site that makes me $800 a month with couple hours on the computers a day...

Open to any advices/suggestions you might have.

There are some scammers on Flippa, but there are some genuine sellers as well.

On Flippa, the general going rate for a website is one year's profits. So if you're looking to buy a $800/month site, it will cost you around $10,000.

Before buying a site, you should take a look at the claimed earnings, quality of the site, the future potential if you put a little work into promoting it, and ask yourself why the owner is really selling it, despite the bullshit answers they list like "I need income for other projects.." or "My grandpa is a tranny and wants to have his penis removed and I need cash for the surgery.."

There's a lot of too good to be true deals on there, for example, people selling sites for 5-6 times what they claim it earns in a single month. If the site was really earning that much on a regular basis, rather then selling it they'd just sit on it and let the money roll in..

Having said that, flippa is great for those who don't wanna put the time into developing a site with content and would rather just buy one and focus instead on promoting it and doing SEO to improve rankings/traffic.

Just use your head and a little common sense..

If you're looking to buys sites, PM me. I'll send you some resources and tools you can use to determine how much $$ the site actually makes, how much traffic it gets, etc.

    Not necessarily true.

I've seen sites that make $20 a month and have huge potential go for $10k, much the same as I've sold sites making $500 a month for $2k due to the niche.

It depends on many factors such as:
    - Whether it's unmonetised (generally you can pick yourself up a good deal as the site is getting the traffic but the owner doesn't know how to make money from it.
    - The domain name (brandability)
    - Earnings per month (around 4-6 months for movies, tv shows, basically fun sites; whitehat sites go from 8-18 months revenue).

As for finding a good deal, in that the seller isn't doing anything shady just apply due diligence.
    - Check if they have uploaded Google Analytics verification
    - Check that they have verified the site
    - Ask for video proof or even better, teamviewer

    How do I do this?

"- Check if they have uploaded Google Analytics verification
    - Check that they have verified the site"

It depends on your own skills. You don't ask a carpenter to paint your house.
