They are having problems, you should wait until they are fixed, apparently them want to change you monthly for the rank tracker bit.

Yes it is not as good as it once was.
I think they are well out of order as well by suggesting they are going to charge customers extra for this.
When I first bought MS it was supposed to be free upgrade for life.

I updated MS today after hesitating over a week and it now shows that rank tracker and PR tracker can't work reliabily....

There will be a day when it become totally obsolete with G bringing down things aggressively.

As an alternative to MS I really like the looks of the new Keyword Canine tool myself.

    This is what I do...

    I use this tool:

    http://daily-niches.com/18/keyword_fighter_review.html

which will scrape thousands of keywords from yahoo, google, ebay, amazon, bing, shopping.com, youtube, and more...

take those keywords and put them in Google Keyword tool and check the *only show ideas related to my search terms.

Get that list and sort from most searches..

Use that tool again to check the competition on all of those keywords in less than one minute

This just came in from Market Samurai late last night....

If you read the blog post, on one hand the developers seem to be headed in the direction of a subscription service much like Link-Assistant, SEMRush, Raven and others.

On the other hand, it seems/feels like they are still feeling their way through the dark. That said, I'm not blaming or hammering Market Samurai. This boils down to g00gal sticking to it's core philosophy which is, "You Must PAY To PLAY!"

You can laugh at this all you want or call me crazy but as soon as g00gal finds a way to directly charge users/surfers for clicking their, "Google Search" button they are going to roll it out!

    :chicken_w<<<< The g00gal monster.

In the mean time, hopefully the developers of Market Samurai can come up with a solution the majority of users can live with.

When you look at the software model that MS were running, it's amazing that they managed to make it this far without charging a subscription.

We all know that Google etc are changing the way they work, and are actively seeking to stop SEO service providers from accessing accurate data; it's not in Google's interests to allow this.

MS will come back with a different model that hopefully will regain most of its functionality, but the models are changing, and it's foolish to believe that we could carry on in the current situation forever. SEO is change by definition. We all have to evolve or make the decision to leave IM as the road gets rougher.

It's not fair to entirely blame MS. Google do drop these changes on all of us, and their business model worked for several years, but it couldn't last forever with the volume of background data they were moving though Google. You can say MS should have planned ahead, but it's likely that making the required changes would just have forced pricing changes even earlier. We've all had a good ride on MS, but it's come to an end!

I don't like it anymore...using Bing for getting index count, SEOC and all the rest of it.

i hate bing, and if this bing shit is long term then MS is just going to flop

    1. There are no official confirmations from anyone outside Market Samurai team that:
"Several days ago, Google made some significant technical changes to its services that make it impossible to reliably perform large volumes of free queries..."

    2. No SEO software provider has reported to face the same issue, though MS's blog states:
"It's also worth noting that most other SEO software has been affected in some way by these changes."

Thus, there was no major technical change by Google.

We at Link-Assistant.Com believe that the actual reasons for the fail lie in a strategic error at the early stage of designing the software architecture - read more at http://www.link-assistant.com/blog/seo-powersuite-is-not-affected-by-the-rumored-google-algo-change/.

We also affirm that SEO PowerSuite continues working seamlessly, and is not and will not be affected by changes voiced by other SEO software providers.
