has anyone here actually bought a listing in the yahoo biz directory? i was doing some research on some competitors in my niche and i see alot of them have listings here when i check their backlinks.. its costs like 260 a year for the listing but im wondering how effective it is traffic wise.

It is not required if you have a listing in DMOZ or have a good PPC stream ;)

seems too expensive. You should be able to buy some good high PR links for less

I've paid it for one of my sites. I couldn't tell if it made any difference.

I'd say, save your money and use it to buy site-wide links on blogs.

It's much more effective than 1 single link

There was a time when getting a backlink in the Yahoo Directory was a hugh plus. This was back in 2005. Since they moved to the redirect as opposed to the direct link I doubt it holds as much weight as it use to outside of yahoo.
