We received this notice from Apple's Account Supervisor. Anyone else seen this email or experience this? We bought 3 reviews from Fiverr... guess Apple doesn't like it.

We are writing to inform you that your company is not in compliance with the iOS Developer Program License Agreement (PLA) due to documented evidence of manipulation of the user reviews and/or chart rankings associated with your apps on the App Store.

    Section 12.2 (Termination) states:

    (f) if You engage, or encourage others to engage, in any misleading, fraudulent, improper, unlawful or dishonest act relating to this Agreement, including, but not limited to, misrepresenting the nature of Your submitted Application (e.g., hiding or trying to hide functionality from Apple?s review, falsifying consumer reviews for Your Application, etc.).

Be aware that employing services that manipulate App Store chart rankings or user reviews on your behalf may also result in the loss of your developer program membership.

    Please address this issue promptly.

Just curious, were there any obvious traces for Apple to find out that those were paid / manipulated reviews?

Used to be with a company developing iOS apps and everyone there (more than 20 people) posted reviews from the same IP, we didn't receive anything like that. But I guess we're talking about massive number or reviews on the same IP here, and Apple has simply been more strict and watchful.

I just received the same message. Freaking out here as a $5 experiment could potentially kill my income.

Did you respond to Apple, how long did you wait? Did you explain to them the truth or deny it? Are your apps still up?

94%, now I see one negative review saying they got flagged, I imagine lots more coming.

This seems crazy, there has gotta be some way to get out of this or else people could just kill their competitors by paying for reviews for them

I need to always put on my thinking cap when I am here at BHW! I was reading the first post and the TS asking if anyone got the letter from Apple and the next thing I know some of you are suggesting paying someone else to do another app developer in.

But it is good to have such devil's advocates here to raise my IQ. I sure learned how to think more like you guys.

I got a similar email and I'm just wondering if ignoring it is the way to go or addressing it. Did anyone just ignore it and it went away or did you have your apps pulled?

For anyone that's wondering or worry about this. Apple will set up a phone call with an Account Supervisor. The account supervisor will just ask you if you have purchased reviews. Just tell them that you're not aware anything and that no one has done it on your behalf. They don't grill you or anything. They won't even ask you about any of the reviews specifically. They just tell you to monitor your reviews and if anything suspicious happens report it. Nothing to worry about.

Will they call me directly? If they don't, do I need to reply the email and deny everything?
    Thanks.

Honestly just deny everything. They don't grill you at all. It's nothing to worry about. Did you go through fiverr or a different source?

I would respond to the email though. Honestly, the first time is no big deal. I'm considering running another campaign but not through fiverr. Did you use them?
